How to Use this Book

Random tables are extremely helpful when you are running a tabletop role-playing game. Gamemasters
can use them to fill in details and answer questions during play. Random tables are some of the greatest
tools in cutting down gamemaster prep.

At the beginning of this book are tables of items found in common buildings or rooms from the genre.
The tables range from Items Behind a Saloon Bar to Items in a Doctor’s Office to Wanted Posters to
Snakes Oils. Plus all of the Snakes Oils listed are actual, historical products.

The section of Town Names is random tables filled with names of towns that were active during the time
period but now have become ghost towns.

The saloon name tables are mainly names of real saloons that existed or still exist. Some are fictional
creations, but all invoke the flavor of the old west. It is important to have numerous saloon names on
hand because even a small town could have dozens of them.

Names for non-player characters are always handy, so that section includes given names as well as
surnames. These names were chosen from the period to ensure they fit the world of a western game.

The Rumors and Jobs section provides tidbits and seeds that can be used to enrich the campaign or can
be used as the springboards to full adventures or campaigns.

It is my mission to help gamemasters have more fun at the table. These random tables will help to level
up any RPG campaign. Saddle up, adventure awaits in the wild west.
