Cute owl

Materials and tools:


1. Any Sport/5 ply light grey, light beige, violet, light pink, white and black color yarn (I used
“Jeans” by YarnArt (55% cotton, 45% acrylic, 160 m/50 g)) and matching crochet hook (I
used 2mm).

3. Scossors, tapestry needle
4. Buttons, veil fabric, felt to decorate the toy

Wings
Work with light grey color yarn. Ch 2 and work in 2nd st from the
hook:
Rnd 1: 6 sc (6 sts)

Rnd 3: (1 inc, 1 sc) x 6 (18 sts)
Rnd 4: (1 inc, 2 sc) x 6 (24 sts)
Rnd 5: (1 inc, 3 sc) x 6 (30 sts)
Rnd 6: (1 inc, 4 sc) x 6 (36 sts)
Rnd 7: (1 inc, 5 sc) x 6 (42 sts)
Rnd 8: flatten the piece and close by working 21 sc across the opening
through both sides
Rnd 9: work the edge of the wing with shell stitch

Forehead
Work with light pink color yarn. Ch 12 and work in rows starting from
2nd st from the hook turning your work after each row.
Row 1: 11 sc (11 sts)
Row 2: 1 dec, 9 sc (10 sts)
Row 3: 1 dec, 8 sc (9 sts)
Row 4: 1 dec, 7 sc (8 sts)
Row 5: 1 dec, 6 sc (7 sts)
Row 6: 1 dec, 5 sc (6 sts)
Row 7: 1 dec, 4 sc (5 sts)
Row 8: 1 dec, 3 sc (4 sts)

* I recommend that you needle sculpt the area between the eyes as shown
in the following pictures.

Sew:
1. the wings
2. the legs
3. embroider the eyes
4. make a skirt using a piece of veil fabric: take a piece 100 x 5 cm and
run a gathering thread. Draw up to fit the waist forming the folds.
Secure the skirt onto the body with sewing pins, evenly spread the folds
and sew. The picture below is from another pattern but I guess you will
get the idea.
