DAY 07: FREE DAY [Sleeping Beauty AU]

Notes

DAY 07: FREE DAY

I could have chosen this one for Day 01, but I liked it better for today. Also, this is a fic I
dusted off, based on a prompt I sent to the kinkmeme2020. Wanted to give it a try, and this
week was perfect for it.

Please, enjoy~

See the end of the work for more notes

White was the color of Death. White robes signaling the end of someone’s life.

It was only fair for people to be afraid of the Lans. Horned human-like creatures that lived for
centuries at the top of a mountain in Gusu. Their sanctuary, called the Cloud Recesses, was a place
impossible for a human to climb. The Lans, with their beautiful white wings, were the only ones
who could get to the peak, protected from any human sorcerer or knight.

They were a bad omen whenever they graced the neighbouring kingdoms with their presence,
usually followed by a path of death.

Powerful beings, doting on those who got into their good side, and cursing the ones who
antagonized them.

Unfortunately, the Yiling Wei Kingdom had fallen from their grace.

Queen Cangse Sanren made the mistake to overstep into Lan Qiren’s boundaries, bantering in a
playful manner, but he took it as an offence. Soon, the Yiling Wei Kingdom fell into misfortune.

Death crops, sickness and terrible weather covered the land. Until the King and Queen started
making their offerings at the foot of the Lan’s mountain, giving their finest materials and savoury
food, in a desperate attempt to make amends and free their kingdom from its affliction.

Finally appeased, Lan Qiren lifted the curse and the Wei Kingdom grew prosperous again.

That was until their first child was born.

A ray of sunshine to anyone who looked at the baby.

When the time for his full moon celebration came, everyone in the realm was invited. From the
Royal families of Yunmeng, Lanling and Qinghe, to every wanderer sorcerer and commoners of
Yiling.

Except for the Lans.

Lan Qiren took full offense from that discourtesy.

The Palace of Yiling was adorned to receive their guests, the whole city buoyant for the
celebration.

In the grand hall, beside the obsidian thrones for the King and Queen, was a beautifully carved
cradle, a baby laughing inside it whenever a new sorcerer approached, full of rosy cheeks and
shiny eyes.

There was a line of magicians waiting to grace the first born, Wei Ying, with their ‘blessings’. A
beautiful face, beaming smile, optimism, bravery, chivalry, strength, loyalty, charisma…

Everything to make a fine Prince in the future.

At least until a white fog appeared in the middle of the hall, startling everyone. Knights unsheathed
their swords, surrounding the creature that appeared inside the fog. Sorcerers used their magic
artifacts, attacking with charms and curses at the intruder. None trespassed the white fog.

A handsome man, skin as cold as ice, long white hair, a pair of wings on his back and white horns
on his head. Everything in him, except for his golden eyes, was white.

A Lan.

People stared at him, nervous, afraid.

The man was holding a Jade staff, his gaze on the cradle where the Prince of Yiling laid, babbling
like he couldn’t feel the danger this creature represented.

“What are you doing here?”, asked the Queen, standing in front of her child.

“My Uncle was expecting an invitation”, his voice was colder than winter, sending chills down
everyone’s spines. "Did it get lost?", his tone was even. He knew the answer already.

“We didn’t invite him”

“A mistake, then”, he was calm, aloof to the situation at hand.

“Forgive us, please. But we couldn’t invite Lan Qiren.” Said the King. “He would’ve cursed our
child. We’ve offended him before, we couldn’t risk it.”

“But you did risk it. And you offended him, greatly. He would've given your child a blessing.
Now…", he trailed, walking towards the baby, his footsteps echoing in the hall. No one dared to
attack again, yet every sword was still raised at him, every wizard watching carefully, looking for
curses to use against him.

“Why are you here?”, the Queen asked, blocking his path.

“To punish.”

With a flick of his fingers, the King and Queen got paralized, just like everyone else in the hall.

The creature walked to the cradle, where a baby with silver eyes and chubby cheeks stopped his
babbling to look at him.

He raised the staff, a white energy coming from it.

“As a punishment, I shall curse your most precious belonging. Your son.” Desperate cries came
from behind him, but no one, not even the sorcerers, were able to stop him. He looked at the child,
the energy enveloping his tiny body. “When the sun sets in your eighteen year of birth and your
skin breaks by a dagger’s blade, in darkness you’ll fall and your life will end”, he recited, the white
energy seeping through the baby.

“My uncle might've cursed him to a shorter life, to die in a month or a year if he'd come instead.”
He turned to look at the Royal Family of Yiling. Angry tears and murdering eyes on their faces.
“Be grateful I gave you eighteen years by his side.” A white smoke enveloped the man,
disappearing just as his spell left everyone free. Darkness fell upon the Yiling Wei Kingdom as a
frenetic mother took her baby in her arms.

That night, it was decreed that every dagger would be melted, every knight had to swear for never
letting their child be near their swords, even the cooks were ordered to forbid his entrance to their
kitchens.

From that day on, every other Kingdom knew how vile those creatures truly were, cursing an
innocent child over a mistake from his parents.

After that, the Kingdom of Yiling stopped their offerings.

When Prince Wei Ying turned five, his kingdom fell.

Sickness and attacks came, burning the Palace to the ground, his parents losing their lives as they
fought with all their might.

The orphaned Prince was taken by the Royal family of Yunmeng.

The old Palace of Yiling and the previous bursting city became a barren wasteland, the Burial
Mounds.

Years passed in the Palace of Lotus Pier.

Wei Ying became close to the Crown Prince and Princess, almost a sibling but never truly a part of
the Royal Family by decree of the Queen. Still, he considered himself fortunate enough, especially
after losing everything he had. Even if the Queen kept scolding him for everything and arguing
constantly with her husband about him. It was better than having no one to care for him. And his
siblings made him feel safe.

He was given a good education, fit for a Prince even when his Kingdom had fallen and there was
no throne or richness to inherit anymore. He had fun learning along with his brother. At least, until
Jiang Cheng started his training with the Knights and he was forbidden to attend.

Every Prince had to be prepared to defend their Kingdom, especially after Yiling had fallen and
danger seemed to be more tangible for every realm. Wei Ying had been excited to try too. Already
making plans in his head to become a Royal Knight, to be by the Jiang’s side and thank them for
their kindness by protecting them.

He wasn’t allowed.

No matter how much he asked, the answer was always no. A hurtful word for his young ears, yet
he couldn’t know that it was given with some kind of mercy. Everyone, except the new generation,
knew about Wei Ying’s curse. Even if it had been bent by the great Baoshan Sanren and it
wouldn’t trouble him until his eighteenth birthday, people were careful enough not to let him get
into harm's way.

Only Jiang Cheng took pity on him, sometimes teaching him in the secrecy of their rooms with
wooden swords until the moon was way up in the night sky.

Instead of learning by his brother’s side, Wei Ying had given art lessons along with the Princess,
learning how to draw and play the dizi, the art of conversation and manners.

He rather loved painting and giving private concerts with the Princess.

But there was something that kept bothering him in the middle of his sheltered new life.

A man in white, with a pair of horns and golden eyes, beautiful white eyelashes, looking down at
him. A pair of soft and long wings on his back. He dreamed of him every year on the night of his
birthday. He’d only get glimpses of the winged creature. An ethereal being, completely in white,
except for his golden irises. Breathtaking.

He painted him every year, hiding the portrait from anyone to see. His secret. He felt something
deep in his gut whenever his eyes landed on those paintings. Cheeks burning over the years, a
growing yearn he couldn’t understand. There was something about that creature that made him
curious, that made him want to see it for real.

He didn’t know about the Lans. Or the curse. Nor that his own Kingdom had fallen because of
them. No one talked about them anymore, silently getting ready in case they attacked again, but
always fearful of speaking a word.

It was on a trip to Lanling where his life changed again.

Accompanying Jiang Yanli to meet her soon-to-be husband, Jin Zixuan, wasn’t on his agenda.
Actually, he didn’t have permission to leave Palace grounds, especially now that his eighteenth
birthday was nearing. But his sister took pity on him and let him go with her and Jiang Cheng,
hiding this fact from the King and Queen of Yunmeng.

Lanling was a place full of splendour, white peonies over golden silks. Wherever he looked, there
was something shiny catching his eye. It was exhausting after spending his life in Lotus Pier.
That night, after a banquet, he escaped from his room, looking for a place to rest from the opulence
of Jinlintai.

He found himself roaming the empty streets, a dark cloak hiding his face.

It was after a while that his steps came into a halt. There was a man outside the house of a
renowned merchant, clad in white from head to toe. His long hair shone under the moon, as snowy
as his robes. A pair of horns at the top of his head and long soft wings falling on his back.

Wei Wuxian felt his heart beating faster. It was him!

He ran to the man, the creature. But he unfolded his wings, ready to depart.

“Wait!”, his yell echoed in the empty streets, but the man stopped, his wings falling behind again.
His face turned to Wei Wuxian, golden eyes shining under the moonlight. He was truly stunning.

The man, with a face so beautiful he couldn’t stop staring, walked slowly until he was right in front
of Wei Wuxian. They were silent for a while, the man in white waiting for him to say something.

Wei Wuxian took down the hood of his cape, revealing his face to the stranger. Golden eyes got
bigger if only a little. His gaze was imposing, taking him in completely. Wei Wuxian couldn't help
but feel hot under that stare.

“Who are you?”, or what , more precisely. The stranger lifted an eyebrow, looking intently into his
eyes. “I mean … It's the first time I see someone like you…”, his throat felt dry under the scrutiny,
anxiety seeping through his body.

“You don’t know”, it was obvious. The man in white brought his hand to Wei Ying's cheek,
caressing it as if he was made of glass. He felt warmth, trembling under his gaze. “ Lan Zhan ”,
whispered the man, his eyes never leaving him.

“Wei Ying”, he said, breathless. He wasn’t supposed to introduce himself like that. But he’d been
dreaming with Lan Zhan for so long, it felt wrong to give him his courtesy name.

“Mn”, there was a hint of sadness in that answer, recognition flaring in those eyes.

“I…I’ve seen you before…”, he stopped, smiling then, “…in a dream.” His cheeks burned in
embarrassment. Lan Zhan would think he was creepy for sure. He glanced at the creature, who
kept looking at him with so much intensity he felt naked.

"Mn. I see", his hand released his cheek, taking a strand of his hair between his fingers. Wei Ying
was waiting for him to walk away after that comment, but Lan Zhan seemed to be curious about
his words. "A dream, then." There was the hint of a smile, provoking Wei Ying's heart to go
rampant. "I'll see you soon, Wei Ying . Don't tell anyone." Said Lan Zhan, suddenly, giving a kiss to
his hair, before disappearing in a white fog.

"Wei Wuxian! What are you doing outside?! If my mother finds out, you are dead." Came Jiang
Cheng's voice from afar. Wei Ying was still looking at the spot where Lan Zhan had been. If it
wasn't for the tiny feather he found, he would've thought it had been a dream again.

"I wanted to take some air, don't worry, Madam Yu will never know. I don’t want to be punished
until my twentieth birthday", he smiled, putting the feather inside his cape.
"Air. Yeah, sure."

They walked back to Jinlintai, Wei Ying's gaze in the sky, looking for a winged man.

The next time he saw Lan Zhan, it was a few weeks later, in Yunmeng.

Wei Wuxian had escaped yet again from the Palace, now swimming calmly under the night sky,
dreaming about an ethereal face and golden eyes he couldn't forget.

The lotus pond he was in, was a secret one he and his siblings had found only a few years after he
started living in Lotus Pier. No one ever went there for the only entrance was in the Palace
grounds, and it was so full of trees that no one could glance at what was inside.

A soft hum startled him. There, beside his dark robes and red cloak, was a man in white, looking at
him with amusement in his eyes.

"Lan Zhan", he smiled, swimming until he reached the man. "I hadn't seen you in a while, you said
I'd see you soon", he pouted, but the happiness he felt was enough for him to feel playful.

"I'm sorry, Wei Ying.", his hand went to his cheek again, this time his thumb started caressing his
skin, his lips. Wei Ying felt his heartbeat quicken, his cheeks warming under that touch. "I'm here
now."

Seeing Wei Ying there, surrounded by lotus flowers, his beautiful unmarred skin shining under the
moonlight, droplets of water travelling down from his neck to every curve and muscle of his naked
body. It was a sight so delicious Lan Zhan could barely hold himself from doing anything more
than touching his lips.

Since the very moment he saw that face in Lanling, his frozen heart started beating wildly, warmth
swept over his body. He knew in that moment he had fallen for this beautiful creature. The same
fate every Lan suffered since the beginning of time, finally coming upon him. Love at first sight,
the curse and blessing of his family.

A curse if their fated one was lost before they could take them back to Gusu.

A blessing if they were able to bring them into their family.

Wei Ying had been cursed, his life would end in a few weeks, when his eighteenth birthday finally
came. Worse, he was the one who had cursed Wei Ying to die.

That night at Lanling, he felt remorse, sadness for the fate they'd have.

Now, after weeks looking into that curse, Lan Zhan realized that Wei Ying had been blessed too.
By the great Baoshan Sanren. His curse couldn't be undone, but bent. That sorcerer changed the
curse. Wei Ying would fall into a deep slumber once the dagger came on his eighteenth birthday.
But only a true love kiss would break the curse.
His kiss.

Wei Ying was his fated one, the only person he could ever love. Only he could become Wei Ying's
true love.

That night at Yunmeng, he held Wei Ying close, caressing his skin, listening to his ramblings.
Falling further for him, already making plans for their future.

Lan Wangji’s visits became a nightly routine for them. He would wait for Wei Ying to appear in
the pond, late at night, on his black or red capes and the most beautiful smile.

They would lay on the grass, a white angel-like creature cuddling with a little human, enveloping
him with his feathers. Wei Ying talked about his day, his life with the Jiangs, the way he wasn’t
allowed to come near a sword, or even a needle, how frustrated he was. All because of a curse he
didn’t know of, yet. A curse Lan Wangji was planning to trigger soon.

“Don’t worry. I’ll gift you a dagger if that’s what you want”, he whispered into the softness of Wei
Ying’s hair.

“Really?”, he beamed, naivety surrounding his words. He had been sheltered all his life, not even
remembering the horrors of his firsts years. Lan Zhan felt pity for his love, but soon he would be in
charge of taking care of him. No one would try to take advantage of him or hurt him.

“Mn. The most beautiful. Like Wei Ying”

He almost smiled when his love’s face turned crimson.

Soon, they wouldn’t need to meet in secrecy.

Lan Wangji took Wei Wuxian’s body in his arms, flying away from the Jiang's guards and the
Crown Prince charging at him. With only a flick of his fingers, everyone was left paralized and
unable to follow them.

He flew away, to the Cloud Recesses, ignoring the gazes that fell upon him at his sudden arrival.
Hanguang-jun, the one who was in charge of giving punishment to those little humans... walked
through the place with a human in his arms, carrying him like he was the most precious thing in the
world.

Everyone knew at that moment. The Lans only loved once, deeply, possessively. Hanguang-jun, to
everyone's surprise, had fallen in love with a human.
He brought Wei Ying, his love, to the Jingshi, where no one would interfere. Where only he could
see the beauty of his Prince. He laid Wei Ying on the bed, carefully, sitting by his side. Even in the
deep slumber of his curse, Wei Wuxian was the most beautiful being he'd ever seen. His face
looked calm, as if he was just taking a nap. Those plump reddish lips were slightly open, inviting.
He wanted to kiss him, to taste all of him.

To devour his little love.

Lan Wangji got up from the bed. He was confident that his kiss, and only his, would wake Wei
Wuxian again. They were soulmates, and he knew the effect he had on Wei Ying every night they
had met. But he needed to change something before that.

Those people from Yunmeng Jiang had taken away his characteristic red and dark robes, replacing
them with the purples from their Kingdom. The sight of his love wearing someone else's colors,
even if he considered them his family, made him mad.

He'd fallen in love with Wei Ying wearing reds and blacks, proud of his fallen Kingdom and the
heritage he carried, always close but never a part of the Royal family of Yunmeng. Never
belonging to someone else.

He loved to see him in reds and blacks, yet the robes he brought were white. Pure and pristine, the
color of death for every little human. The color of his family.

Wei Ying was his, and the kiss would prove it soon. He belonged in the Cloud Recesses, with him.
Not anywhere else.

His love was the most beautiful human he'd ever seen in his life. No doubt they'll try to take him
away from him, giving his hand in marriage to anyone but him, to someone who'd never deserve to
have him, if he were ever to let him go back to Yunmeng.

Lan Wangji took the sash away from his lover's waist, opening his robes carefully, revealing a
beautiful sun kissed body, firm muscles and soft skin. His fingers caressed him, tenderly, delighted
with the way it felt on his skin. He'd been dreaming about it since the day he saw the boy bathing
in that lotus pond.

Carefully, he took his boots away, a hand easing his pants, his pulse quickening with anticipation.
He loved Wei Ying and desired him from the first moment. He wanted to make love to him, tender
and gentle, but there was that possessive part of his nature that wanted nothing but to ravish him,
make him plead for more, devour him in every way possible.

He felt his groin hardening inside his robes, his heart thrumming with desire, while his hands
worked on undressing Wei Wuxian. He was greeted by paler skin, never seen by anyone but him.

He licked his lips, parting Wei Ying's legs, positioning himself between them. Even in his deep
slumber, his love was reacting to him. A flush on his cheeks, little pants of breath, and his exposed
member twitching from the cold air. Lan Wangji buried his face between his legs, smelling the
musky scent from his lover. Tasting it as he licked his length, feeling it pulse and grow. His hands
caressing the skin from his long legs. His tongue travelling downwards, looking for his entrance,
the place that he'd soon claim as his own. There was a reaction as soon as he licked the rim. Legs
twitching, gasps coming from Wei Ying's mouth, and his lover's groin hardening, already wet.

A captivating sight. He wanted nothing but to bury his shaft inside him, making him his, leaving
his unmarked skin full of proof of his love. He ached to take him, to bite and kiss and fuck him
senseless.
But not yet. Not with all that silence. He wanted to hear him. His voice, his breath, calling for him,
whining and demanding to be taken over and over, begging for him to go rougher.

He breathed, sitting again, closing Wei Ying's legs, trying to calm himself long enough.

Yunmeng robes were taken from that beautiful body, replaced by a too big inner robe of his. Rosy
cheeks, red lips, and wearing his robes... his desire grew even more than a moment ago.

His thumb caressed Wei Wuxian's cheek, feeling the heat from his previous activity. He touched
those lips, parting them, fingers entering that mouth. The warmth from his saliva was enough to
make the heat impossible to bear a moment longer.

Lan Wangji took his robes from his own body, knowing his love would be very distracted by the
sight, possibly agreeing to anything he so desired.

He leaned until their lips were almost touching, a breath away.

"You are mine now, my love. No one will ever take you away from me", he promised, pressing his
lips on Wei Ying’s, carefully, savouring the taste, claiming them his.

There was movement below him.

It worked.

Wei Ying was waking up from the curse. This was the confirmation of his feelings. That he was
just as in love with him. So much that, unknowingly, his executioner became his savior.

He parted a little, looking for his face.

Silver eyes were looking at him, surprised, relieved.

"Lan Zhan", his voice was hoarse from the days he had slept, after touching the dagger he had
gifted him with. "You are here", and then the smile that made him fall was back. Gorgeous, like
the sun, and just as brilliant.

"Mn. Always there for Wei Ying", he said, long fingers caressing the younger's cheeks, full of
devotion.

"My Lan Zhan saved me from the curse", came his voice, endeared. A curse he barely knew
anything of.

"Wei Ying is mine... no curse will take you away from me. No one", he climbed on top of him,
like a predator, ready to finally eat his prey.

Wei Wuxian looked at him, shivering from the intensity of his gaze, Lan Wangji's eyes impossibly
dark, a strong naked body covering him completely. He felt like being consumed by a fire.

His arms surrounded Lan Zhan’s neck, lips meeting again, savouring each other. His skin felt hot to
the touch, while Lan Wangji’s hand made its way down his robe, a burning touch all over his
body.

His legs were bare, Wei Wuxian couldn't recognize the white robes, or the place. But in that
moment only Lan Wangji existed for him, and the heat and need to be his. The strange feeling in
his gut, urging him to take him into his body, to welcome him where no one had ever touched.

"I'm yours, Lan Zhan, only yours", he breathed, while his robes were taken away, his body now
completely exposed. Lan Wangji looked at him, hungrily, wanting. He took his white ribbon off,
tying Wei Ying’s wrists several times, leaving them around his neck again. He stroked those pink
buds in his lover’s chest, feeling him getting harder, warmer, under his care. His hands slid from
Wei Ying’s chest, going down to fondle with his ass, skin soft and toned, squeezing it, probably
bruising it. He salivated at the thought, watching Wei Ying’s face blushing. He thrusted, his
erection pounding against his lover's ass. Gasps escaped Wei Ying’s mouth, a breathless laugh
before his mouth was devoured again in a passionate kiss.

Lan Wangji sat up, taking his lover with him, sitting him on his lap, a leg on each side of his body.
He positioned him so his length started sliding between Wei Ying’s asscheeks. It felt glorious. He
grunted, growing impatient, needier.

"Lick them", he showed three fingers to his love. Wei Ying’s silvery eyes were darker with
arousal, pulling those fingers inside his mouth, licking them so good, fervently, sucking on them as
if it was his shaft. It felt so good, and the sight was even more glorious, sinful. A beauty like Wei
Ying, hungrily engulfing his fingers, was a sight he would repeat later, when his need to bury his
length inside that alluring body wasn’t so intense.

He took his fingers out of those lush lips, a single pop echoing in the Jingshi.

"You did good,'' he praised. Wei Ying’s cheeks flared red at the compliment.

He slid his fingers to the rosy hole of his love, playing a little with his rim, teasing, feeling how
Wei Ying’s body started to relax, squirming with pleasure already. Until he introduced one of his
fingers, surprising him with his rudeness. Wei Ying’s body tensed again, gasping from the burn of
the intrusion, trying to relax again. Sweat started forming on his forehead.

"Lan Zhan, I...", he cried a little when a second finger went in without warning. He wanted to be
gentle, to wait for him to be ready, but that ferocious part inside him wanted nothing but to claim
him already, make him cry in pleasure. "I...I..."

"Tell me. What do Wei Ying want?", he scissored his fingers, opening him more before a third one
entered, enchanted with every sound that escaped his lover's mouth, every cry and whimper
making him harden, his desire flowing in his veins like burning fire.

"I...want you...Lan Zhan. To fill me", his hips started rocking against his fingers, looking for
pleasure, trying to overcome the pain. "Only Lan Zhan", he kissed him, his tongue tasting that
delicious mouth. Only his.

He soon replaced his fingers with his erection, entering in one thrust. The whines coming from his
lover's mouth resonated all around him, only fueling his desire.

"You are mine, Wei Ying. Forever" , he whispered in his ear, his hands pressing on Wei Ying’s
waist. He thrusted over and over, amazed by how tight his lover was, how eager he became, losing
himself on the duality of pleasure and pain of having him inside, repeating his name a million and
one time.

He made his lover come, and kept fucking him through his orgasm, faster, erratic, his fingers
bruising that perfect skin, his mouth biting and sucking, marking him as his.

He came, breathless, filling him to the brim with his seed.

Lan Wangji had craved this moment since the first time they saw each other, many nights back.
Wei Wuxian was his, and he'll be his forever.
He had claimed him. Gave him his forehead ribbon. Wei Ying was his now, by the laws of his
clan.

"You are mine", he whispered. His lover, already closing his eyes, nodded, satiated. He nuzzled his
cheek, lovingly. "You'll always be by my side, my love"

Wei Ying kissed him, accepting his fate, not understanding yet how true his words were.

The Lan Clan only loved once, with all the passion of their hearts.

Lan Wangji wouldn't let him go ever. Wei Wuxian was his and only his.
