I was very happy and excited when I got to know that our university have some very

interesting field trip. My first choice was New York but unfortunately there were no seats
available. I had been to Paris 3 years before and I really loved the place so I decided to go to
Lyon. I wanted to explore France so I didn’t miss this opportunity. After this trip, I can say
that I made the right choice. I made some really wonderful memories. If I get another
chance to visit France I will definitely take it. During this field trip, I have learned many thing
and I was also able to find my strength and weakness. This was one of my best trip in my
life, I made new friend, I also learned a little bit of French and I was lucky to learn the French
culture this are just few of the thing that came across to me on this trip. After this trip, I
think I can go anywhere around the world alone and survive. This was a whole new
experience to me. I’m a little shy person and I wanted to open up. So, this trip was a great
opportunity for me to overcome my weakness so I took this as a challenge.
This field trip was an amazing opportunity to practice my language skills, especially the
communication skills of understanding and speaking. It was a very unique opportunity to get
extensive practice. I developed comprehension of the language used by professors and
peers in my classroom. It helped in enhancing my listening skills and memory. I not only
learned their language but also new sounds, expression and the ways of seeing things. It
created more positive attitude and less prejudice towards people who are different. It has
helped me in improving my analytical skills too. This helped me for leading to appreciation
of cultural diversity. My communication skills boosted up. It thus helped me in
understanding people, removing misunderstanding and creating clarity of thought and
expression. Communication facilitated flow of ideas, information, perception, opinion,
belief, advice, etc. communication helped us in understanding each other better. This leads
to promotion of good human relation throughout.it facilitates inviting and encouraging the
ideas throughout. It enhanced my creative thinking. It exposed me to new experience and
increased my interest in all activities. This trip helped me better effective communication.
Increased knowledge about local culture
I have known culture of different countries, but having them experienced firsthand was a
completely different thing. Living the experience not only made it a lot easier for me to
understand but also made it a lot more enjoyable and fun. This field trip gave me the
opportunity to be a part of the France culture and live it. Transferring knowledge helped me
to build interpersonal connection and smooth interpersonal processes in a multicultural
workface. While working with people there and building relationship with them, helped me
to have some perspective and understanding of their culture. It gave me the ability to step
back from the world as I understood it and acknowledged the human difference.
Motivation helped me in self-development. It helped me to achieve higher level in any task.
It motivated me to put my best efforts in the task. It helped in my positive self-growth. It
facilitated self-development. I have learned to have a good balance between the ability to
perform the task given and willingness to perform the task. The balance between lead to an
improvement in efficiency. I started taking pride and be engaged in the work since I was
aware how my efforts would create an impact; regardless of how big or small my
contribution was. Lessons come from everywhere and everyone. I have been exposed to
variety of view, points, culture opinions and experiences that were very different from my
own. By engaging with diversity in all its forms, I was able to see things from different angles
and expand my perspective of better understanding. I have learned how important
relationships and empathy are, that positive change comes in small, incremental steps, and
that a smile is universal. I have learned that there is nothing quite like receiving a box of
dunkin’ donuts, coffee and Reese’s butter cups from home.
