teacher. Reflect upon your own experience how far have you given chance to your students
to "do mathematics". Present your answer in 200 - 300 words.

The concept of “doing Mathematics” from my own perspective as a Mathematics

teacher is when “do mathematics” you are looking at the problem. The first step in doing
mathematics is analyse the problem. Then identify which method that need to apply in
order to solve problem. Next, apply the method to solve the problem in order to obtain the
correct answer. Lastly, review the method that been use to recheck the correct answer and
method. The other concept of “doing mathematics” is when you do calculation,
measurement or estimation to solve particular calculation. With this concept, we can
predict what the situation is going to be for particular process.
Based my own experience, the chance to my students to “do mathematics” give a
chance or time to they think or looking into the problem and then analyse the problem.
Besides that, student given a can to choose what they think the best method to solve the
problem and ask them to review the solving method. Lastly present their problem-solving
method to the other student. The other chance is given them to understand the mathematic
concept by inquiry finding. For example, to make student understand what and know how to
draw plan and elevation by using a real object. Teachers bring object such as box, cans and
the other for student draw plan and elevation.
