by computed radiography and shall be reinspected by conventional radiography. If the
result is at least equal in terms of detectability and satisfactory, see in i) and j), the

Documentation of Computed Radiography Procedure” that registries the information
required by the contractor to prove the validation, namely:
— name, signature and register number of the professional level 3 of the contractor,
responsible for the follow up of the validation process;
— signature of the professional level 3 of the client, responsible for the approval of the
validation process;
— number and review of the procedure of radiographic testing used, conventional and

more) work or service, other validation is not necessary when performing the inspection
in other work or service;

8
-PUBLIC-

N-2821 REV. B ENGLISH 04 / 2011

h) The qualification and validation of the inspection procedure shall be accepted for
inspections in other works or services of other client, if agreed between the parties;
i) To verify that the computed radiography technique is equal/satisfactory in relation to the
conventional radiography technique, all the discontinuities detected by the conventional
radiography shall be detected by the computed radiography as well, in conditions that
simulate those executions, in other words, in conditions comparable to the ones in the
field and factory. Otherwise, the computed radiography cannot be used;
j) Increase of sampling: If any result of computed radiography is not equal or is
unsatisfactory in relation to the conventional radiography, the inspection using computed
radiography shall not be performed. It is admitted to perform the correction in the values
of exposure and/or energy, followed by an increase of sampling, where two additional
joints of the same combination diameter and thickness shall be radiographed by both
techniques. The client shall indicate which additional joints shall be radiographed. If the
results are satisfactory, according to the criteria established in i), the inspection using
computed radiography shall be performed and the procedure shall be modified to
