Upgrade Prerequisites

• All needed licenses with enough capacity has been installed in CLS.
• SBTS19A 2.0.1 and SBTS19B 2.1 software has been installed in NetAct SW Manager.
• Security mode TLS mode is set to OFF. (TST setting is OFF)
• Check and make sure NO similar/identical MRBTS MO ID number exist in NetAct Monitor
before the upgrade.
• Recommended to create Working set for Alarm and KPI reporting purpose.
• Run CM upload + Backup commissioning file for eNodeB
• Recommended to perform ping test to ensure all upgraded sites are reachable before
proceeding with software upgrade.
• After MRBTS has been deleted from NetAct, rollback of MRBTS to FL18 3.2 requires
manual re-integration.

Migration/Upgrade Steps using NetAct Workflow Engine
PREPARATION OPERATIONS
• Create Dummy BTSMED O&M IP Address to BTS
Configures a special dummy BTSMED IP address to the
BTSes. Exports the BTS IDNS configuration to actual data
files for restoring the original values to the DNS object
after the migration. The scope is taken from the input
file.
• Create working set for software management
Creates a working set with the same name as the input
file. The working set contains the BTSs included in the
input file. BTS software can be downloaded and
uploaded either with the software Manager using the
working set or with this workflow engine.
• Download SW to BTS
Downloads the software package given in the input file
to BTSs. Reports the results of download operations for
each BTS.
The download operation for each BTS is also visible in
Software Manager.
• Check migration readiness
Checks that the preparations operations are done
before the migration. The scope is taken from the input
file.

MIGRATE OPERATIONS
• Activate SW in BTS, connect and upload configuration
Activates the software package in the BTSs given in the input file. Reports
the result of activation operation for each BTS.
The activation operation of each BTS can also be visible in Software
Manager.
Connects the migrated BTSs to NetAct and upload the configuration data.
• Upload software configuration
Uploads the software of BTSs given in the input file. Reports the result of
upload operation for each BTS. The upload
operation for each BTS is also visible in the Software Manager
• Upload alarms
Uploads the BTS alarms. The scope for the operation is taken from the
input file.
POST-MIGRATE OPERATIONS
• Upload hardware inventory data
Uploads the hardware inventory data from the BTSs. The scope is taken
from the input file.
• Restore original DNS object configuration in BTS
Restores the pre-migration values of the DNS object configuration in the
BTS. The scope is taken from the input file.
• Delete old BTS data from NetAct
Deletes some old BTS data from NetAct and reports the plan
configurations for manual clean-ups (optional).
Deleting alarms of the old FTM object is a manual task. The scope of the
operation is taken from the input file.

Input data file contains the group of LTE BTSs that are migrated. The file is required for the LTE BTS mass migration.

Input data file is required for the LTE BTS mass migration operations with NetAct Workflow Engine. The data file contains the group of
LTE BTSs that are migrated as one batch. One mapping file can contain a maximum of 500 LTE BTSs. It is important that the same input
data file is used consistently for all the workflow operations in prepare, migrate, and post-migrate phases. Informative file naming
convention is helpful when there may be several input data files under work at the same time.
