Why the family name ModulX?

Firstly, the modular design that makes

us flexible for customer adaptations.

Secondly, the unhandedness, enabling

the same brake to be fitted to a left- or
right-handed wheel while minimizing
the number of spare parts.

Thirdly, ModulX is the only disc brake

on the market to use quadruple slide pins,
which means slide pins on both sides of
the disc. This gives increased stability,
vibration resistance and low noise.

The ModulX family includes

disc brakes for 17”, 19.5”, 22”
and 22.5” wheel sizes. Radial
disc brakes for 22.5” wheel
applications are included
in the product range for trucks,
buses and trailers.

Being in the forefront of disc brake technology,
the Haldex ModulX disc brake concept not only
contributes to increased safety and reliability.
It means cost savings by reducing the number
of spare parts, cutting weight and extended
service intervals.

The sensor signal is fully adjustable for
customer demands, and operates both
in sink and source mode. The sensor is
mounted with a single screw and fitted as
one single push-in unit for easy servicing.

Enhanced reliability, increased perform-
ance and security, extended service intervals
while keeping costs down, may seem like a
tricky formula. With the ModulX Disc Brake
we have managed to combine it all.
Thanks to the compact design it is easier
to integrate the ModulX Disc Brake into
a wide range of heavy commercial vehicles.
Two-piece caliper with a housing that
incorporates a factory-sealed application
module. The application module can be
supplied assembled and factory sealed
in the caliper housing or as spare parts.
Fewer parts in stock, simplified handling
of spare parts and more money to save.
That is because all components, apart from
the caliper, carrier and the pads, are the
same and by that the same spare part kit
fits all brake sizes.
Superior caliper guidance thanks to
the quadruple stainless steel slide pins.
They fit the same brake both on the left-
and right-hand side. Carrier and caliper
parts are built to receive forces in both
directions of rotation.
The Pad Wear Indicator gives a warn-
ing for the most worn pad. Then both
pads should be changed.
The Pad Wear Sensor not only gives a
warning when the maximum lining wear
has occurred, it also gives continuous
feedback on the actual status of the resid-
ual pad thickness. The Pad Wear Sensor
signal is possible to adjust to customer
demand. The Pad Wear Indicator and
the Pad Wear Sensor are both optional.
The length of the cable and connectors
will be delivered according to individual
customer specifications.
To ensure improved stability and corro-
sion resistance, the ModulX is the only
disc brake on the market that has four
stainless steel slide pins. Self-lubricating
Teflon slide bearings result in very low
friction. Silicone rubber bellows effec-
tively protect from dust and dirt. One kit
fits three brake sizes.
