Weaknesses in School

Here are a few weaknesses to consider for this SWOT analysis:

 Not enough co-curricular and sports activities.

 Lack of funding for specific sports/programs.

 Enhanced reports of cyberbullying.

 Not enough staff/faculty members.

 Staff unable to meet with parents.

 Lack of proper training for faculty.

 An overabundance of students.

 Poor internal communications.

 Poor testing scores.

 Bad reviews online.

Weaknesses in office

 The weaknesses of a business office can easily reflect weaknesses in your operations.

These weaknesses can include the lack of customer follow up, lack of resources, and

lack of strategic planning or marketing. These and other weaknesses can cause a

decline in profits or hinder the business' profit increasing efforts.

 Leaving projects unfinished.

 Providing too much detail in reports.

 Shifting from one project to another (multitasking)

 Taking credit for group projects.

 Taking on too many projects at once.

 Taking on too much responsibility.

 Being too detail-oriented.

Weaknesses of a parent

1. Losing your temper too quickly, too often:

 We are all entitled to our bad days, when we are irritable and snappy. However, if you

find yourself losing your cool too often, especially around your child, it might be

worth introspecting to check whether you might be displacing your anger from other

situations on to your child. If this is true, it can be a huge stumbling block in

developing a warm and nurturing relationship with your child, which is critical to

develop positive discipline.

2. Ordering your child around:

 Respect is a virtue that must be earned, not demanded or coerced out of your child.

Remember, your child can feel and think, and has a mind of her own. So, respect her,

talk to her, and listen to her. And, when you want something done, voice a request,

not a command.

3. Wanting to control all the time

 Many parents I have met are control freaks. They want to have 100% control over

their child. Does this sound like you? Be aware that trying to control your child can

prove counter-productive. Again, learning to respect him would ensure that he always

informs you of his needs, whereabouts, thoughts and feelings and has a mind of her

own.

4. Swearing, bickering and being disrespectful

 If you are in the habit of swearing within your child’s earshot, you can be sure that

she will soon pick up your habit. If you bicker and snub people, she will learn to be

disrespectful too. If you want your child to avoid using foul language and desist from
bickering, whining and acting rudely, eschew such behavior yourself. Else, this can

become a huge parenting pitfall.

Weaknesses of a teacher

 Workaholic nature; focused on spending extra hours on researching concepts and

taking advantage of online resources.

 A tendency to be overfriendly with students, in a bid to come close to them to

understand their problems and limitations.

 Below-par computer / technological skills for which evening classes are being

attended to ensure improvement.

 Going overboard to make classroom environments feel fun and inviting, during the

first few weeks of the new school year.

 Spending more time than necessary to create lesson plans, hoping to incorporate

different elements and extra information.

SWOT ANALYSIS

SWOT analysis (or SWOT matrix) is a strategic planning technique used to

help a person or organization identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and

threats related to business competition or project planning. It is intended to specify the

objectives of the business venture or project and identify the internal and external

factors that are favorable and unfavorable to achieving those objectives. Users of a

SWOT analysis often ask and answer questions to generate meaningful information

for each category to make the tool useful and identify their competitive advantage.

SWOT has been described as the tried-and-true tool of strategic analysis, but has also

been criticized for its limitations.

Strengths and weakness are frequently internally-related, while opportunities

and threats commonly focus on the external environment. The name is an acronym for

the four parameters the technique examines: Strengths: characteristics of the business

or project that give it an advantage over others. Weaknesses: characteristics of the

business that place the business or project at a disadvantage relative to others.

Opportunities: elements in the environment that the business or project could exploit

to its advantage. Threats: elements in the environment that could cause trouble for the

business or project. The degree to which the internal environment of the firm matches

with the external environment is expressed by the concept of strategic fit.

Identification of SWOTs is important because they can inform later steps in planning

to achieve the objective. First, decision-makers should consider whether the objective
is attainable, given the SWOTs. If the objective is not attainable, they must select a

different objective and repeat the process.
