By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
perform operations involving fractions.
First Meeting:
Introduction
In this meeting you will recall the concept of adding and subtracting of
fractions. The skills involved in these operations are the same—the
changing of dissimilar fraction to similar fraction, renaming or regrouping
and changing the final answers to the lowest terms.
Read pages 9-12 to recall the concept and the skills needed for adding and
subtracting fraction.
After reading the above information from the book, answer the
following questions for more understanding.

Questions to Ponder:
• How are fractions added and subtracted?
• What are some of the things that one should be mindful of when adding and
subtracting fractions?
• Which instances in real-life can you apply addition and subtraction of
fractions?
Second Meeting:
Introduction
In this meeting you will recall the concept and the skills involved in multiplying
and dividing fractions. They are entirely different from those of multiplication
and division of fraction. Be mindful of these so that you can be able to perform
multiplication and division of fraction accurately.
Read pages 12-17 of your book for information on multiplying and dividing
fractions.
After reading the above information from the book, answer the
following questions for more understanding.

• How are fractions multiplied and divided?
• What are some of the things that one should be mindful of when multiplying
and dividing fractions?
In the next section, you will need to challenge yourself by answering the
