The Story of Abra, A Gifted Little Wizard

Chapter 1
Land of Magic

Dark, mysterious, yet enthralling. Those three words represented the beauty of
Virgo Star Constellation, located on a hilly and swampy region in Satyabhumi.
This land was mostly inhabited by the Magis. Witchcraft was in their blood and
those obscure powers were passed on by their ancestors. Since the time of their
ancestors, they had been given those obscure powers. Everything
supernatural, occult and mystical such as ghosts and astral beings, was
part of their everyday life.
Because of its invisibility, this land was not easy to find. It was hidden,
camouflaged and covered by magical dust spread throughout the entire
area. For the Magis, being invisible was a form of a self-defence, a way to
protect themselves. Their existence was out of sight. If ones passedanyone
passes by, they would only see a dark, uninhabited hilly and swampy area.
Although hidden, the inhabitants of the country wereas quite open to
immigrants or nations other rather than the Magis themselves. , Aas long as
the immigrants had a clear purpose in living there and didn’t violate the
Magi’s values orand breaking the law of a Virgo. All Magis and
representative of non-Magis (other races), had agreed on imposing this law
in Virgo since the twelve race leaders had signed an agreement to end the last
war in Satyabhumi.since the agreement among the twelve leaders of each race
to end the last war in Satyabhumi, was signed.
If we were in this country, we could smell the fragrance of frankincense,
musk oil and incenceincense which were put in every corner of the city. No
wonder that this country was also called a mystical swampy land. But what
made Virgo special was its leader. Virgo was led by a woman, a queen, due
to thebecause women played an important role in that beautiful magical
land. It did makemade sense since the symbol of the zodiac was a virgin
womangirl. IndeedIndeed, there was a king consort whose power was not as
high as the queen. The condition in Virgo wasVirgo’s condition was similar
to a bee colony which was led by queen. Or it’s the same with chess games
in which a where the queen hasd a greater power than thea king. That's why
it was common for anthat an iron lady run the governance to govern with the
used ofby using her magical powers. It was the uniqueness of the Magis that
the other races with earth element doesnidn't have.

Physically, the Magis might not look different from the ordinary human race of
Adam. But there is a fundamental difference between the Magis and the non
Magis. Besides their capability in doing witchcraft, the Magis had an ability to
communicate with guardian angels called Pamong. Each Magi had a Pamong
who became one's protector since the day of Magis birth. As the Magis grew up,
the Pamongs was also able to manifest themselves in any forms they liked.
But most of them took a form of an unusual mystical animal. They would
sometimes appear so that the person guarded, recognised their existence and and
understood that they had various strength and personalities taken after the
person guarded. Pamong always accompanied them wherever they were. The
existence of Pamong was inseparable from the existance of the Magis. They
were unified by the ancient magic vow when their ancestors just had found a
hidden spell and magical dusts. Surprisingly, those spells and magical dusts
allowed them to interact and work together with their Pamongs.
Each Pamong had brought with them a unique magic code that would
also be part of any Magi since they were born. For this reason, the strong
connection between the Magis and their Pamongs were both a bless and a curse.
It was a grace because Pamong was a spiritual being. Physical attack such as an
attempt of harming or killing would be nothing because they were able to
disappear. But it was also a curse. Pamong was always by the side of the person
guarded, they couldn’t be injured and die. If Pamongs got injured or died, the
Magis would also suffer the same fate as their Pamongs.

Born with an earth element, the Magis were innately introvert. They didn’t like
to expose themselves out. However, there had always been disputes between the
white wizards and the black ones throughout the history of Virgo. When they
were fighting, the black wizards were so destructive. It was due to their
character which were mostly ambitious, grumpy, dominant and dare to curse
anything they didn’t like. Meanwhile, the white sorcerer posessed delicate
personalities, protective, compromising and cooperative with other races.
Despite devastating, the fight between the white and the black wizards always
happened. According to the law of nature, only fights which could keep the
balance between those two. They were like night and day. Changing and
rotating. It has to be done because a justice has to be done. This controversial
yet amazing life journey of a little wizard named Abra was a reflection of a
justice.

Chapter 2
The Story of Abra

In this magical land, lived a little gifted child, the descendant of the Magis,
named Abra. He was an amazing boy, not an ordinary little wizard whose skill
and intelligence surpassed the greatest wizards who had ever lived in Virgo. At
a relatively young age, he had master necromancy, the highest power in
witchcraft. With this most ancient practice of magic, he was able to summon the
soul of the dead, bringing someone back from the death.
Abra himself didn’t even realise that he had this power. When his cat died of
poisoning, like any other children, he delicately stroked his cat’s dead body
while weeping. But then, he was astounded to see that suddenly the cat took a
breath, opened its eyes and walked like a normal. He thought that it was just a
coincidence and only few people knew his miraculous ability. His late mother
and his uncle Orlando were the ones who knew Abra’s talents because they
brought him up since he was a baby.
Because Abra’s fondness for cat, his Pamong manifested himself as a dove
winged Egyptian cat whom he called Bastet. Bastet was Abra’s soul mate, this
unusual cute animal was a loyal companion and always protected Abra all the
time.
His mother, Lea, died when Abra was a baby. She comitted suicide after
suffering a severe depression. Lea was a brilliant wizard, she was expert in
making a magical potion or elixir. Her pamong manifested herself as a mouse
deer. While his father was a Magi nobleman named Baron Xaviera who was a
rising-star yet deceitful ruler. He was the younger brother of Queen Sisilia, the
queen of Virgo. His pamong manisfeted himself as a tiger named Pantera.
Abra’s mother left the palace and entrusted little Abra to her brother Orlando.
Orlando lived very modestly out of the city, far from the luxurious lifestyle of
the Magi noblemen in their royal palace.
Lea knew very well that Queen Sisilia was cold and ambitious. Also, her
husband was possessive but he didn’t care about the baby when Lea was still
pregnant. That’s why Lea decided to end their marriage and Abra was then
taken care of by Orlando whose previous job was a detective. What he did was
to investigate any cases related to witchcraft. Orlando’s Pamong took a form as
an agile Siberian husky whom he called Orpal. This strong and skilful dog
always helped Orlando to do his main job and tracked a wizard fugitive.
Orlando had been dishonourably dismissed from his job for his liking for
gambling. Not only because of that, he had also involved in dangerous magical
items trafficking. For this reason, he was exiled by the ruler of Virgo and now
lived by his own in the suburb of Galiera. There, he opened a small shop selling
secondhand wizardry goods. The government of Virgo gave that kind of
sentence because he was a rebel and was not interested in the affairs of the royal
bureaucracy. For him, bureaucratic affairs and regulations were way too
complicated and useless. He was thankful that at the moment he could live as a
free spirit man allowing him to do things he liked. Never again he could
imagine living in a royal palace full of dirty politics and ridiculous rules making
him depressed.
Baron, Abra’s father didn’t try to fight for Abra’s custody after his ex-
wife died. Fortunately, Abra’s mother had entrusted her little boy to her brother
so that now Orlando had a legal right to take care Abra. Baron didn’t feel it was
important to take care of Abra, even though he was his own flesh and blood.
That’s why Abra’s felt closer to Orlando than to his father.
Being a legitimate royal descendant didn’t make Abra feel at home in Virgo
palace. He took after his uncle character who was a free spirit and not tied into a
certain rule. He grew up being uninterested in visiting his father or just spending
his days inside the palace, unless there was a very neccessary matter.
But Uncle Orlando was a person who didn’t know how to bring up and educate
a child. Maybe because he got accustomed to live alone and free without any
crucial reponsibility, except paying his debt. At first, he was annoyed by his
sister’s will to take care of Abra since it was similar to take his freedom away
and he would be troubled by time management. At the end of the day, Uncle
Orlando didn’t have any choice, he had to look after Abra.
Yet, when he got many troubles because of debt in his little magic shop, he
preferred to get drunk and do gambling as he wished. Abra didn’t know his
uncle bad habit but who could conceive a bad habit? Since Abra knew this, they
often quarrel with each other. It might be true that their fight was like an
antipathy between cats and dogs. However, as the time went by, Abra’s
presence had slowly changed everything in Orlando’s life.
Little Abra was very intelligent, he often asked questions, critised and also was
attentive to his uncle. These turned Uncle Orlando to be a better parent. In fact,
deep down, Orlando loved his only nephew heart and soul. Although they often
quarrel since Abra was stubborn when given advice, Uncle Orlando still loved
him dearly. He even felt that Abra made his life more colourful and purposeful.
Going home from work was thing that he always wanted to do to see Abra grew
up, even sometimes Abra annoyed him
Being with Abra made Uncle Orlando always remembered his late sister,
Lea. Sometimes, he thought he was a loser and couldn’t be a good parent for
Abra. He often wondered why Lea entrusted Abra to a loser like him. The fact
that Abra was her only son and a true descendant of Magi nobleman, burdened
Uncle Orlando a lot. But at the end of the day, Uncle Orlando was a responsible
man who was willing to bring up Abra and he was also Abra’s legal guardian.
Indeed, Uncle Orlando and Abra had lived together happily for years.
The day passed as always, everything happened as the way it was. In the
suburb of Galiera city, a man and his little nephew survived by selling wizardry
items made of used goods. Abra accompanied his uncle and was willing to do
anything to help him, including tidying away the products and regularly
checking the inventory lists.
Abra became like his personal assitant although he was still seven years old.
However, he was quite smart and able to think like an adult. Uncle Orlando was
also satisfied to spend a lot of his time with his loving, talkactive nephew. This
always brightened Uncle Orlando’s days. At least when he got complaints from
his customers and irritated when the landlord collected his unpaid rent, Uncle
Orlando could talk to his nephew and they could joke about anything.
“Uncle, I just saw this item. What's this?” asked Abra curiously.
“Hey, don't hold it. Be careful, Abra! It's called laughing and sneezing powder.
If you inhale it, you will laugh and sneeze at the same time. Do you wanna..?“
Orlando teased Abra while showing his laughing face.

“Ah, Uncle, of course I don’t! I know you want to play prank on me,” Abra
grunted irritably. “Hahahaha. I am serious. You know this stupid item is a high
selling products among teenagers. They wanna buy this and make a joke or play
prank on people with this. There are still any other toys, Abra! Don’t play what
I sell!” Orlando explained.
“Okay, Uncle!” Abra replied and turned away. Abra then went outside and
played with his friends, usually sons of neghbouring shop owners. Arthur was
one of Abra’s friend who often spent time with Abra playing together just next
to Uncle Orlando’s shop. He was sweet, calmer than Abra and also a very good
friend. They liked to play hide and seek behind the Uncle’s Orlando shop.
Arthur’s mother too, was a good friend of Uncle Orlando. She sold a number of
unique and exotic pets, such as rainbow snakes, crested owls, sphynx cats and
chameleon frogs. Last week, Uncle Orlando bought a crested owl for his little
newphew. Abra was so exited and called this new owl Mr. Mismagus. He took
him around his uncle’s tiny shop. Surprisingly, Mr. Mismagus and Bastet can
get a long very well and become best friends.
One afternoon, Orlando was about to scavenge for some used stuffs that still
could be repaired and sold.
“Abra, I”ll go to the rubbish dump looking for some repairable used goods. You
stay here, huh?”
“No, Uncle. I want to go with you, I am bored of being here alone,” Abra said.
“Don’t you wanna play hide and seek with Arthur?” Orlando asked.
“There’ll be a lot of rubbish, smelly. I am sure you’ll complain.” He tried to
convince his nephew not to go with him.
“It’s okey Uncle, I’ll be fine. I promise you I won’t complain and get you in a
trouble,” Abra said to his uncle, hoping to be allowed to join his uncle by
grinning at him.
Finally Orlando allowed his nephew to go to the garbage zone in that suburb.
They took a broomstick as a vehicle and went to the dirtiest area in Virgo called
Nematora Garbage Mountain located quite far from Galiera city centre. When
they arrived to that smelly and disgusting area, Uncle Orlando gave a mask to
Abra and asked him to wear it. They began to pick up trashes that could still be
repaired and sold. Uncle Orlando waved his magic wand and uttered a simple
spell to move these trashes. “Postum rigertoza!” he said. Abra saw his uncle
from behind and tried to help him carry some of the things that his uncle
believed still useful. Orlando was surprised yet confused why Abra enjoyed a
very dishonourable activity like this.
He then asked, “Abra, are you not ashamed to join Uncle scavenging for
garbage like this?" Orlando asked to his nephew.
“Why should I be ashamed Uncle? You don’t steal and harm other people. Now
let me help you to bring the stuffs.
Postum rigertoza!!” answered Abra. He didn’t care what his uncle was worried
of and just waved his magic wand. Abra asked, “May I know why you want to
do this?”
Uncle Orlando tried to explained although it might be to long and
incomprehensible. “You know Abra, I still owe a lot of debt and sometimes I
don’t get enough income to pay the rent. I don’t wanna use magic only, in
everyday basis. Besides, collecting used goods like what we do now, requires
creativity, hard work and persistence. Turning the used goods into something
valuable is not easy but worth it. Now you understood, boy?” Listening to his
uncle’s reasoning, Abra just nodded. Deep down, he aprreciated his ucle’s hard
work, eventhough his life is quite difficult and sometimes his life choice was
not always right.
Orlando just smiled and shaked his head. He was happy that his little nephew
was not fussy and quite obedient when joining him scaveging a lot of used items
in that rubbish dump. He just felt a little worried about Abra’s future,
“I hope that when you grow up, you don’t need to do things that I had done,
kid!” he said sofly. Abra smiled innocently and kept collecting the goods. But in
all of sudden, his uncle accidentally stumbled and dropped Mr. Mismagus’s
cage, Abra’s beloved owl. He flew away. Spontaneously Abra called out him
and tried to catch Mr. Mismagus. Before Orlando tried to catch them, Abra had
grabbed the broomstick to chase the owl.

“Abra, hey don't run away!! Be careful in riding the broomstick! Don't go all the
way because you also don't know the area around here. You’ll get lost!”
Orlando shouted.
“Take it easy, Uncle, I’m going to catch Mr. Mismagus for a while. Mr.
Mismagus ... Come back !!!” without thinking too much, Abra get on the
broomstick, chase his favourite bird and left Orlando alone.

Chapter 3
Haunted house

Abra was still chasing Mr. Mismagus who flew away quickly out of the
Nematora area. Abra didn’t realise that he had flown into the area of a horrible
haunted house. The house seemed large and none living inside. He wanted to go
in but he’s having a doubt because it was totally creepy. Also, the high spiked
iron gate was closed and there’s a notice board insribed ‘Do not enter!’
But he ventured inside by jumping over the iron fence and still rode the
broomstick to catch Mr. Mismagus. Bastet told Abra that it seemed like the owl
had entered the haunted house. He followed a path full of vines and dry trees
not treated for a long time. Abra heard someone was squeaky laughing but no
one there. This made him get goosebumps. He decided to run until he arrived in
front of a very large main door. Although scared, he decided to open the door
and step inside. The door was unlocked. When he opened it, it screeched
horribly.
“Hello, is there anyone here?” Abra tried to greet although trembling. Suddenly,
the door closed itself and locked. Abra was shocked and then banged his body
againts the door. It was too late. Again, he heard the shrill high-pitched laughter
he had heard outside. The laughter got louder and Abra was terrified.
“Mr. Mismagus, where are you?” Abra and Bastet both tried to ignore their fear
and prefer focusing on looking for the owl. He looked around the house having
many aisles with hideous nuances. There were many spider webs, it had ben
neglected for quite a long time. In the left and right of the hall, they saw an
abundance of various forms of clocks and old paintings lit by antique
chandeliers. The longer he’d been there, the more he got afraid. Abra did think
that this house was haunted. He felt that the figures in paintings looked at him
wherever he moved. It was. The woman in the painting next to him glared at
him and then laughed. Both Abra and Bastet screamed loudly.
“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.......Ghoossssssttttttttttt.....!!!!!!!!!!!”
The terrifying moment still continued. The lamps hanging on the ceiling moved
by their own. Flaming jack o’ lantern came out of every single room
accompanied by a high pitched laugh. The horrifying situation gets even more
shocking when a skull walking towards them and the paintings moved by
themselves.
Abra ran towards the stairs. The creepy creatures followed him but he
found a room and hid at the back of the room’s door. He tried to catch his
breath. Here in this room, he felt safe. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. He saw a
teddy bear in front of him moving and looking at him and slowly walking
towards him. Again, the fear made Abra’s hair stand on end and he wet his
trousers.
The doll spoke, greeted him, “Hallo, how are you?”
Abra was frightened and screamed, “The doll can talk!”. Then he fainted.
Being awake, he realised that he was on a big bed and he saw some strange
ghosts, such as tuyul, flying head and kuntilanak. But Bastet meowed and was
ready to attack the ghosts. Abra jerked and trembled but the Teddy Bear spoke
softly, “Hey, don't be afraid, we don't mean to scare or hurt you. We just want
to invite you to play with us.”

Then, Abra tried to catch his breath and began to open the conversation. “What
are you?” Then a little female ghost came out of the bear doll. Her age did not
seem much different from Abra and she was dressed in a cute gown with a cute
headband.
“My name is Sofia, I am a ghost princess who live in this doll. Without the doll,
I can’t move. Sorry my friends and I have scared you,” she said kindly while
trying to hold Abra's hand but it passed through because she was translucent.
“How can you see me in the form of a ghost?” she asked.
“I don’t know. Oh, by the way, my name is Abra,” he replied. “It's almost
impossible to catch my breath, if you know what I mean,” Abra said irritably.
“I am sorry Abra, we did make you unconcious and then you peed yourself,”
said Sofia and the other ghosts giggled at Abra's innocent expression. Princess
Ghost Sofia was a little surprised that Abra was able to see her.
"Is this the first time you saw ghosts, huh? So what are you looking for here?
You don't see the big notice board put at the fence, everyone is not allowed to
enter, right? Sofia asked again but this time she was a bit sarcastic.
“Of course I saw that, but I think, ghosts like all of you, only exist in a fairy tale
because my uncle doesn't believe in ghosts. But forgive me, Sofia. Actually I'm
here looking for my owl, Mr. Mismagus. He flew away and I saw he came here.
Did you see him?” Abra said tremblingly.
“Oh ... you mean the crested owl? I don't know if it's yours and indeed he has a
good name. Let me take you to the next room.” Sofia took Abra to meet Mr.
Mismagus to the next room. He saw his owl perched on a tree branch near the
window. Sofia wondered what made Mr. Mismagus come to his place suddenly.
She just assumed that there might be a lot of worms he could eat.
Abra thanked Sofia and apologised for entering the house without her
permission. Princess Sofia still wondered why he could enter the house because
this house had been protected by the most powerful protection spell. It could
have prevented anyone to enter or even seen the house.
Abra shooked his head, showing that he himself didn't know either. Sofia
thought that Abra was definitely not an ordinary Magi. Besides, his Pamong
was unique, a winged Egyptian cat. Even for Pamong, winged Egyptian cat
represent the higher level of guardian angel and rarely seen. Sofia tried to
approach Bastet and stroked his fur.
“Oh, let me introduce my Pamong, you can call him Bastet,” Abra said.
“Hello Bastet. Nice to meet you.” Bastet meowed softly and tried to rub againts
her. Like any other cat, this behaviour could tell this unique feline liked her.
“Sofia, I am sorry to ask you this question, may I know how could you become
a ghost?” Abra asked curiously. Sofia sighed long enough and replied, “My
parents were the most famous witch hunters in the Kingdom of Virgo. They
were defenders (Imperial Guard Forces) and had captured many evil wizards
who made troubles in the country. But unfortunately there were some parties
who didn’t like my parents' way in capturing those evil witches. Political
problems too brought my parents to be the ones who should be blamed. Virgo’s
government killed my parents, me and other defender families”.
“When we died, only my parents’ dead body which were found. Mine was not
and my spirit roamed since then. From my understanding, the spell that killed us
had also another bad effect. If the dead body was not burried and sprinkled by
salt, the spirit would roam forever. Luckily before we died, my parents had
protected this house with the most powerful spell so that this house was safe and
free from any attacks, especially the evil ones. My spirit was sealed in this
house and I am able to control the doll according to my will. My friends called
me Princess Ghost or the Puppet Master”. After explained her family tragedy
and her current existence, her face blushed. But immediately her expression
showed a deep sadness.
“But I feel lonely in my own house for years, Abra,” Sofia shed tears,
unable to control his emotion.
“Hey Sofia, I am so sorry if my question only makes you sad. I don't mean ...,”
Abra understood what Princess Sofia was feeling and tried to touch her hand but
he couldn't touch it because she was trasparent.
“It's okay Abra, it's not your fault though. Anyone would be sad if they were in
my position but this is life. Thank you for listening to my story.” Sofia
answered and smiled.
After listening to Sofia's story, Abra sighed yet had an idea to play hide and
seek before he came home. He wanted to make Sofia happy. Of course, Sofia
was very happy and they played hide and seek a few moments before Abra
retuned back to his uncle’s house. Princess Ghost Sofia invited Abra to explore
the entire house. It was a very large house inherited from her family. Sofia also
introduced her other ghost friends to Abra. They had such a good time together.
It was obvious that Abra was no longer afraid of ghosts. Since then, they have
become close friends.
Now, it’s time for Abra to go home. “Sofia, will you meet my uncle. I will
introduce you to him, he is a very good person, I consider him like my own
father,” Abra asked her in excitement.
“I really do, Abra. But I can't go far from this house because my astral body is
not powerful enough to leave this house, unless I entered the teddy bear. But
later when seen by people it is dangerous and I'm worried. Although already
being a ghost, there is still someone who wants to attack me. Just take your
uncle here”, Sofia answered.
“It doesn't matter, my uncle isn't a coward. Okay Sofia, nice to meet you. I will
definitely visit you again. I promise.” Abra took out her little finger as a sign of
agreement with Sofia.
“Abra, if someday maybe you need help from me or want to
communicate with me, you can use this fragmented mirror that is connected
with its fragment in my room. Just call my name in front of this mirror, then I
can talk to you from here. Let's just say this is a sign of friendship so we can
still get in touch even we’re far away from each other,” Sofia smiled and gave
the mirror to Abra.
“Thank you Abra, I'm very lucky to know you,” Sofia hold on Abra's finger
with her little finger as a sign of friendship.
“Thank you Sofia, you're very kind, I'm sorry I can't give you anything. I
will keep the mirror well. See you all my friends,” Abra waved to all the ghosts
as he left the haunted house.
“We must get back to Uncle Orlando, Abra,” Bastet said, flapping his
wings.
“That's right, let's hurry friends.”
Finally, Abra returned back to his uncle's house by riding a broomstick whilst
carrying Mr. Mismagus in a cage. Orlando immediately embraced Abra and was
very worried because he left for a long time. He was afraid that Abra would get
lost. Once reunited, Abra told him everything he had experienced at the haunted
house and his new best friend, especially the Princess Ghost Sofia. Orlando just
nodded while listening to his story. He was in between believing and not. But
that's not important though. The most important thing was Abra came back
home safely.

Chapter 4
An Incident and A White Beard Wizard

Since the incident that just happened a few days ago, Orlando became so
worried about Abra and often didn't give him a permission to go outside the
house by himself. Abra felt guilty about it but he did understand his uncle's
concern. He couldn't do anything but obeyed his uncle to only play around
nearby, although he was a little bit annoyed because he couldn't play far from
that region.
At one time, there was an unexpected event happened when they were
both coming home from the rubbish dump after scavenging. It seemed that there
was a chase against the thieves by the palace defenders riding high-speed
broomsticks. Also, magic fight between the two groups happened. Both uttered
magic spells, especially spell making their rivals paralysed. It had been
reported that a little child was incidentally hit by the deadly spell. His body
bounced away and seriously injured. The little boy was dead.
Abra saw this tragic incident by his very eyes. He lost his heart and
brought him into tears. Many people gathered around and watched that the boy
no longer breathed, including some of the defenders who were there. Abra
approached the child's dead body and touched his arm. Then a miracle
happened. The child awoke and breathed again. This made all the people
nervous and did not believe what they saw. They looked at Abra with
astonishment. Unbelievable!!! But Abra immediately fell limp. The boy's was
indeed very grateful to Abra. Before the defenders could approach him, Orlando
quickly grabbed Abra and took him, as far as possible.
“Abra, what have you done? Have you forgotten your uncle's advice
about raising a dead creature?” Orlando grumbled. He remembered the last time
Abra did the magic was when he was still very young. At that time, he didn't
realise that he had summoned his cat's soul who died from poisoning. Since
then, Orlando didn't give him a permission to touch a dead body. His purpose
was to protect Abra so that his rare ability was not known to others.
Orlando knew his nephew's ability was like a boomerang or a double-edged
sword if it's not properly controlled and well trained.
“But ... Uncle ... Aaa ... I didn't mean to do that...,” Abra began to cry
since he was bewildered about what had happened. He felt that he didn't do
anything that made his uncle upset.
“I just tried to prevent you from using your magic skills carelessly because I
knew very well if everyone know you have such ability, your family in the
palace will take you from me. I don’t know what I will do if it happen. I cannot
lose you, son.” Orlando said, with a cracking voice.
“Forgive me, Uncle ...”Abra couldn’t convince his guilt. He immediately
embraced Orlando and bursted into tears. Orlando understood that this was
indeed an accident and not Abra's fault. Long time ago, he already knew that
this would happen anyway.
“Son, I know this is not your fault. It's all my fault. I can't teach you how to
control your rare ability appropriately,” Orlando opened his arms wide,
embraced his beloved nephew. It was a very emotional moment between those
two. Both of them cried, feeling guilty. But love always won. Orlando can’t
help himself but feels very sorry for little Abra.
Orlando did not want to linger in sadness for too long. He tried to think fast and
then remembered his father, who was one of the leaders of the underground
organisation of white wizard. This organisation opposed Queen Sisilia political
policy. His name is Oscar, the White Beard Wizard who loved to get drunk.
Orlando and his father had never met for quite a long time. They often
had argued with each other because at that time Orlando still worked for Queen
Sisilia. Besides, Orlando still had a big debt to pay off to his father after losing a
ton of money at a casino in Capricorn Land. This made Orlando poor and this
father-son relationship was becoming worse since then. However, in this
difficult situation, only White Beard Wizard who could help him. Also, he
hoped that his father would forgive him, for the sake of Abra, his only
grandson.
“Abra, pack your clothes and stuffs. We will visit your grandfather”. Orlando
said firmly. Abra wiped her tears and nodded, showing his obedience to his
uncle. Immediately they left their house and looked for mysterious White Beard
Grandfather whom Abra had never met before.
Searching for the legendary White Beard Wizard wasn't as easy as imagined.
The old wizard was very difficult to track and trace because he was great in
removing his traces with powerful magical spell. This quest was almost
impossible. Moreover his skill in witchcraft, especially in protecting himself
and playing tricks on others, was potent that no other wizards could catch him.
In fact, he created rebelious and underground organisation called Garuda. The
secret organisaton was named after his Pamong, a huge and robust garuda bird,
whom he called Navi. Grandpa White Beard worked secretly like a
revolutionary army and opposed the Virgo’s government policy. That’s why his
heart sank and felt betrayed when his daughter married to Baron Xaviera, a
member of the Virgo’s royal family.
Orlando still kept an ancient watch necklace given by his father when he was a
child. He used a tracking spell attached to that necklace and wished that it could
take them to the secret place where his father lived. As soon as possible before
all was too late. As the time went by, Orlando's hard effort seemed nothing. The
clock talisman took them far away from the city of Galiera, they now reached
the border of Virgo Kingdom. From a distance, finally they saw a small tent in
the middle of a vast arid land.
Orpal, Orlando's Pamong, who had a heightened sense of smell, sniffed the
ground and said confidently that White Beard Witch was not far from where
they were. Unexpectedly, his secret headquarter was very far from the official
territory of Virgo Kingdom. Orlando tried to break his father's protection spell
but failed, his magic skill wasn't powerful enough to destroy it. He was sure that
his father was there so he shouted asking him to come out. His second try also
failed. He had no other choice but uttered a spell that could blast a firework up
into the sky to attrack his father's attention. The last try succeeded, two of his
father's bodyguards came out of his tent and invited them to go in. They said
that White Beard Wizard had been waiting for his guests.
When entering the invincible tent, it seemed that Orlando was not lucky
because all the wizards, along with their Pamongs, were staring at him with
unfriendly look. His father didn't seem friendly too, although his son came. It
was Abra's first time to see his grandfather. His appearance was just how many
people described. A long white beard reaching his belly. He was tall, wore a
gray robe and held a walking stick on one of his hand.
“What do you want, Lando. How dare you to look for me and came here
after what you have done?” White Beard Witch commenced the conversation
with a heavy, intimidating voice. Orlando was not comfortable talking to him in
that situation. But he dropped his ego and answered, “I came here not to argue
with you, I've apologised many times but you haven't forgiven me yet”.
“Only saying sorry isn't enough! As a real man, you must be responsible
for your own actions and and mistakes. Unless your father failed to educate you
and you turn into a coward!” His father's tone began to rise.
“Is it not enough for you that now I lived in poverty and scavenge used
goods in a rubbish dump to survive? I am not coward but maybe I am a loser,
Father," he said irritably.
This time the White Beard Witch remained silent and let Orlando speak. He
introduced Abra whom he took cared since the boy was a baby, to his
grandfather. Abra innocently welcomed his grandfather and hugged him. The
White Beard Witch could not control his emotion in seeing his grandson. He
was happy that he could hug him tightly.
"Oh my grandson, I do miss you. Big boy, you grew up. The last time I saw you
was when you were still a baby. Is your uncle taking care of you well?” The old
wise wizard's heart softened as he talked to that little boy.
Navi, Oscar's Pamong flapped his wings, introduced himself to Bastet but
Bastet was a little afraid of Navi's huge body. The feline bowed his head to
respect the strong garuda. Orpal also barked, giving a sincere greeting to Navi.
In the realm of guardian angel, Garuda is one of the strongest ancient spirit
animal with powerful magic force who protect white wizard clan.
“Yes, Grandpa. I also miss you. Uncle Orlando used to be so stubborn
and too proud to meet Grandpa. But he brought me up well” Abra answered
innocently. Orlando gently kicked Abra's feet as a sign that he wanted his
nephew to shut up.
“Well sometimes if he do gambling, he likes doing whatever he wants
and forgets me, hahahaha ...,” chattered Abra tauntingly. His grandfather gently
stroked Abra's hairs but gave his son a mocking smile.
“Forgive Grandpa, if only your mother had left you with Grandpa, surely
you wouldn't have to serve your uncle's naughty attitude,” he answered Abra's
explanation patiently and lovingly. His mocking smile annoyed Orlando.
Orlando then asked him to speak in private as he wanted to talk about
Abra. They then taked in a hidden room and Orlando explained that Abra had a
rare and special magic skill to raise the dead by touching the corpse and without
uttering any spell. This worried him that he had no idea to protect his nephew.
The White Beard Wizard was speechless. He took Abra's hand, looked at his
palm and closed his eyes. He was so surprised and astonished to find out that
Abra had a extraordinary natural ability. Throughout the history of the Magis,
Abra's wizardry's ability was rare.
“Orlando, why you never told me about this? Do you understand the big
consequences of Abra's talent?” Orlando just shook his head. “Do you still
remember the three main laws of the land of wizardry?” asked his father.
“Yes, Father. Three things which are forbidden by the law of wizardry are to
raise the dead, to restore time to change the past event and also make someone
fall in love heart and soul," he replied.
“That's true because all three are part of a great destiny that we cannot
manipulate whatever we want. If the law is violated, the bad impact will always
happen. It is able to attrack a lot of unimaginable destruction to our life. Also, it
will break the balance of the universe. It was such a domino effect, since
basically the universe must always be balanced and things must intermingle to
each other. Every time Abra raised a dead creature, he exchanged it with his
own life, which means that his lifespan will be cut off as a consequence of
violating the witchcraft law. Or he could take the soul of another creature that
raise the dead. Moreover, he will be weak due to losing his energy
unintentionally,” White Beard Wizard gave a detailed explanation.
After listening to his father explanation, Orlando was in total speechless.
His skin's hair stood up and he was terrified.
"What can we do to prevent this bad thing from happening, Father?” His father
paused for a moment to think.
“Nothing I can do, that's part of Abra's gift. Maybe he was meant to be a great
wizard of the century. As he grows older, his magic abilities will be more
powerful. Only he himself who could decide what to do with his miraculous
abilities, whether he wants to use it or not. I could only use my sealing spells
but it was not permanent. It couldn't eliminate his wizardry ability. I believe that
as long as he is kept away from magic that strengthens his potential, he will be
safe. At least for the next several years. What do you think?”
Orlando just nodded because he had no other choice, “If that's the best for
him, I definitely agree with you.”
“You also have to start training him how to use self-defence magic
because after yesterday's incident, I was convinced that Queen of Sisilia's
armies will use Abra's abilities and take him to the palace forcibly. And if that
happens, at least Abra can defend himself. You understand that, son?” White
Beard Witch gave a solution. Even though Orlando thought that Abra was too
young to learn self-defence spells, he had no other choice. He knew exactly that
his father was always right in making a decision despite the complicated
problem.
“Lando, you take care of your nephew with all your heart. Maybe you've
disappointed me but please don't disappoint this child. Don't repeat your
mistakes, don't disappoint your late sister and me, either! Protect Abra, do not
let others disturb his life. Because something dangerous might happen and ruin
this country," his father giving an advice while patting his shoulder.
“I promised you, Father. Once again forgive me and thank you for
everything", Orlando answered, hugging his father very emotionally.
White Beard Witch took small black leather gloves he had stored in his
magic wooden box. Then he uttered the sealing spells, "Retrodia karnilo
panctum ... Retrodia karnilo panctum ... Xerxia ... Xerxia ...” immediately his
magic wand glowed. Magic sparkles fell to the leather gloves. He put the gloves
on his grandson's little hands while saying, “These gloves are made of dead
Pegasus skin. It is able to neutralize any witchcraft. Wear it wherever you go,
grandson,” advised his grandfather patiently. Abra nodded, he understood.
Luckily it's size fitted.
“It helps you control your magical power. If you want to use magic, just
took off the gloves.”
“Okay, Grandpa. I understand.” Abra nodded.
“You both take a good care of yourself. Don't make any trouble!” It was
Oscar's last advice to his son and grandson. After waving goodbye, they
returned back home.

Chapter 5
Unexpected Encounter

Once, in the Virgo Palace hall, Queen Sisilia was talking to her Pamong
called Pandora, a male goose with three black cobras as his tails. They talked
about her plan to raise the late General Executor as zombie to fulfill their dark
ambitions to gather invincible magical powers. She heard about Abra's rare
power from one of her loyal spy. She he talked to his younger brother and said,
“Baron, I heard that your son you abandoned had a very rare magic power. He
is a gifted child, able to perform necromancy, do you know that? "
“Ah, it's not possible. He was just a spoiled little boy who doesn't want to
accept me as his father, but prefer his uncle, the ugly loser. How did you get the
information?” asked Baron.
“What do you mean? He is your child? You're his father. You must know
him better than I do. The thing is, it doesn't matter how you got the information.
But you have to prove it by seeing with your very eyes . And if it's true, you
must be able to bring him back to the palace. I don't care how you will do it. It
means you can do anything. He is your flesh and blood and you don't want to
regret to abandon him, right? Sisilia argued, her voice was heavy and loud.
“I don't think you really care about Abra, Sisilia. You want him to be here
because you just know his special wizardry ability. And I believe you want to
enslave him so that you could easily achieve your ambition!” Baron said,
irritably. He didn't care what had been said by his sister.
“You don't need to know my motives why I want to bring him up, at least
tou know I want to educate him and bring him back to you, Baron! Don't you
want to be close to your child? I heard that his special ability was really able to
summon the spirit of the dead. We can use his special ability to glorify our
kingdom. We can also train him to be a talented witch who will lead this
country, you understood what I am thinking, Baron?” Queen Sisilia began to get
annoyed by her brother's uncaring attitude.
“Then it's your duty to bring him back here. Later when he arrived at the
palace, I'll take care of everthying he needs.” Baron replied, showing his
indifference.
“You're an outrageous creature. Your indefference and ignorance is
getting on my nerves. If you were not my brother, I would curse you to be a
stone! I’ve already warned you. I don’t wanna understand if someday you regret
for things you do not do today! You’d better learn to be a real man, Baron!”
Queen Sisilia couldn’t control her anger.
Queen Sisilia decided to come to Orlando’s house. A chariot pulled by pegasus
took her there. She was guarded by Virgo royal armies and several defenders.
Unfortunately, Orlando and Abra didn’t have time to pack and run away. When
they were about to go, Queen Sisilia had arrived first. Pandora broke the door
down, cackeld loudly and irritated Orpal the husky. He barked and attacked the
weird creature. Fighting between Pamongs was inevitable but Orpal was
unlucky and less powerful than Pandora. Pandora’s tails, the three cobras, easily
wrapped around his neck and almost poisoned him to death. Orpal was helpless,
near death, so did Orlando.
“It’s always the same, you can not educate your Pamong, can’t you,
Orlando? she pointed to the husky while talking to him.
“He needs to be taught some manners!” the Queen said sarcastically and asked
Pandora to release her twist on the husky’s neck so that Orlando could also
breathe. Orlando panted and tried not to get angry. After all this time, he was
quite surprised by a sudden visit from his sister-in-law, the malicious queen. Of
course he was suspicious of her motives of visiting.
The Queen immediately told him her purpose and confirmed about Abra's secret
abilities. Orlando did not want to tell her, but the Queen, with all her power
managed to make him tell the truth. She persuaded Orlando to bring Abra to the
palace. She told him that she was going to take care of the little boy. She also
promised to teach him how to use witchcraft power so that someday he would
become the greatest leader of Virgo. Orlando insisted on refusing her request
because it was not the thing that his sister, Lea, wished. He remembered that she
just wished that Abra could grow up as a normal boy and could do whatever he
liked.
“Orlando, you know that Abra's ability is the greatest gift of the Magis ever
existed in our history. You should be thankful to the country that has raised you
and the child? The fact that we cannot deny is that he was the legitimate heir of
the Kingdom of Virgo. His ability is able to save many lives of our citizens. If
his talent was well managed and trained, I believe it will certainly be useful for
this country. Don’t you agree with my statement? Anyway, you know the
consequence when his power is not properly managed, could you imagine what
will happen with this country?” Queen Sisilia tried to convince Orlando.
Orlando was upset but unable to answer the queen’s strong argument. “In fact, I
am able to give everything he needs. I’ll provide him with the best facilities and
the most important thing is I can fulfil what you cannot fulfil for him. Think
about it Orlando, don’t just think about yourself. You have to think deeper for
take sake of our country”.
Again, Orlando couldn't answer the queen’s argument. Logically, what she said
was true but it couldn’t change his mind.
“Maybe I really am not a noble family, and I am indeed not his biological
parent, but this is the will of Lea before she died. It is my duty and
responsibility to bring up Abra the way Leah wished. You can't separate us that
easily, Sisilia. I’ll do everything for him because I love the little boy and of
course it’s what he wants”.
“Seriously! Abra is still too young to understand his potential and everything
related to his future. Of course he said so because you have taken care of him.
Do you think he will say so if I take care of him?
“Abra is indeed still young but he already knows what he wants, Sisilia.”
Orlando said.
“But I don’t think you’ll give him an opportunity to choose things by himself.
He should be given an opportunity to live in the palace. Don’t you ever think
that if your sister were still alive, she wouldn’t seperate him from his own
father!” the Queen argued.
Orlando was speechless for a little while but suddenly he remembered
something. “What did you say? His father didn’t care about him at all! If he
cared so much about Abra, he would came here with you. But why didn’t he?
And I don’t think you also care about Abra that much. You want him because
he has a special ability, don’t you Sisilia? I believe you don’t know what he
likes and what makes him happy!”
“You’re such an impolite immature man! Who are you? You dare to talk to me
that way? I am Queen Sisilia, I hold the throne of the Kingdom of Virgo and I
am also his aunt. Therefore, I still have a right to take care of him. Don’t teach
me about happiness, Orlando! I am afraid that you yourself do not know what
happiness is anyway. Look! You are heavily indebted. Your life is awful! Don’t
you understand?!”
The debate between Queen Sisilia and Orlando was getting tough. Their
negotiation seemed endless because each of them had a strong argument.
“I won't give you Abra’s custody if he really doesn't want to... After all, I am
his legal guardian and I am fully responsible for it".
Eventually Queen Sisilia decided to to end the negotiaton but offered something
else to Orlando. She said she will pay off all his debts provided that she was
given the opportunity to get to know Abra and introduce Abra to control his
abilities without coercion. If Orlando rejected, as a consequence, the queen will
use violence to bring Abra to the palace.
It was a bewildering choice for Orlando. He didn’t want to agree with the
queen but he had no other choice. Finally, he accepted the queen’s offer
provided that Abra could choose what he wants, whether to live in the palace
with his royal family or in the suburb with his uncle. Queen Sisilia granted his
wish.
Soon after the agreement was made, Queen Sisilia came to Abra and told the
little boy that she wanted to bring him to the palace, just to introduce the old
tradition of Virgo and get to know the royal family to him. The Queen also told
him that his uncle could visit him anytime and he could also go home to his
uncle whenever he wants. Abra look at his uncle without saying anything but
Orlando knew that he asked for his permission. Orlando nodded as a sign that
he agreed. Deep down, he couldn’t control his emotion of being separated from
Abra. But the little boy knew his uncle well. Orlando had to be tough, for the
sake of his loving nephew. There was no choice although his heart crumbled to
pieces.
Chapter 6
The Nobleman Who Returned Back to the Palace

Finally, Abra returned back to Virgo Palace along with his aunt, Queen Sisilia.
They were guarded by the royal armies who accompanied them to circle the
palace before going in. The palace was an ancient gothic building which was
majectic and astonishing, built in the middle of an arid land. It resembled the
old castle of the dracula in Transylvania Budapest. The palace building was
protected by a powerful protection spell. What the most intimidating sight was
the Varushas, the cruel guardian of the Virgo palace and the prism prison.
Varusha was a creature of the darkness resembling to an angel of death. Each of
them wore a hood and carried a large sharp scythe. No one wanted to see them
due to its threatening shape. They’re much like human skeletons who hovered
in sky around the palace. They were wild creatures, born from evils and would
attack anyone mercilessly. Once they set a target to kill, they just pulled their
scythe and the target lost their soul immediately. Much more like butchers.
Their goal was only one, to protect the royal family. But everyone knew that
they also attack anyone’s soul, especially those who were in fear, since they
would suck their happiness, which was more terrible than death.
After seeing the Varushas hovering in the sky, Abra got a goosebumps. The
royal palace’s atmosphere was more frightening than the haunted house of
Princess Sofia. He felt that something wrong happened but he didn’t tell
anything at all to his aunt. Deep down, he has felt strong darkness energy
around and makes him uncomfortable. Queen Sisilia brought him to his father,
Baron Xaviera. Baron seemed to be happy and welcomed his little boy with a
sweet smile. The lost little witch was back to his arms. In fact, both of them
were good in acting, especially in front of the Queen. Since then, Abra spent his
time with his father and auntie.
As the days passed, Abra longed for his uncle very much. He asked why he
hadn’t visit him yet. The Queen said that probably his uncle was still busy and
would come if he had enough time. Abra didn't believe her aunt, but he
pretended to. The Queen spoiled him to win his heart. She gave him everything
he wanted. She also gave him a rare plant called puspa kemuning, a mixture of
orchids, chrysanthemums, and mimosa, which smelled like a rose, could change
its colour like chameleons and most importantly was able to sing at night.
The Queen also gave him a winged little obedient white elephant as a pet. His
father taught him to ride this little creature. Every now and then, his aunt invited
him to play archery and asked his bodyguard to play hide and seek with him.
Abra was given personal servants and bodyguards, so he could ask anyone to
serve all his needs because he was the crown prince of the kingdom.
However, all the luxury given by the queen and his father was in vain. It
couldn’t make Abra happy. The Queen and his father didn’t allow him to leave
the palace, so he just stayed at his large room in the tower of the palace
building. Sometimes, he could walk around the palace but the royal guards had
to escort him. Despite the limitless comfort and extravagance given to him,
what he got was a lonely heart.
Luckily, he got two friends, the little white elephant whose name was Mr.
Oliver and the flower, Puspa Kemuning who always sang for him every night.
And of course, Bastet was always around to cheers and protect him. Despite of
all the companies, Abra was feeling like a bird in a gilded cage. All he wanted
was freedom like when he lived with his uncle. He longed for Orlando, Mr.
Mismagus and White Beard Wizard, his grandfather. Abra was upset that his
uncle hadn’t visited him yet. Sometimes, when he was tearful and couldn’t hold
on, he cried alone in his luxurious room. None came to console pity little Abra.
Bastet can only comfort him when this happened but still, the sadness feeling of
being left behind by his loved one leave hole in his heart.
In the other side of the building, precisely in a beautiful room full of unique and
antique goods, Queen Sisilia and Baron talked in private.
“Baron, don’t you remember my purpose to bring your son back to palace?”
asked the Queen. Baron shook his head. “I brought him here to fulfil my secret
mission. I want to raise dead powerful witches by using his necromancy power.
That’s why, I intend to train him to the control the spirit of the dead witches. I’ll
hold full control over my grand plan to strengthen the defence of this country.
So it's not only about raising the zombie, but also expand the territory of our
kingdom, Baron. What do you think?” The queen explained her plan to her
brother.
“Your plan is great Sisilia, but I don’t think it’s easy to train Abra to use his
magical power? He is still very young. Do not forget to consider that every time
he raises the dead, he has to exchange it with his own soul. The law of the
witchcraft must be fulfilled, his life will get shorter. Do you have a heart to
sacrifice your own nephew to reach your crazy ambitions Sisilia?!” Baron
explained.
“I have already got a solution before you remind me that thing! Now it’s your
duty to train and teach your son to be an invincible witch, Baron! I am
convinced that someday he’ll be able to lead the Magis as a king in this country,
don’t you understand? About violating a wizardry law, it’s my resposibility.
I’ve prepared a special magic potion made from pegasus tears and purple scaly-
skinned dragon for him. This elixir is able to extend his lifespan,” the Queen
described her demonic plan, coldly.
The Queen walked to the other side of thw room to take her ancient wizardry
book by uttering a magic spell. “Of course the living corpses which have been
raised, couldn’t control their own life. I’ll be the one who take control over
everything by using this magic book and my own power. I’ll seal their hearts,
like how I’ve sealed Baron’s heart here. They’ll be entirely my possession and
he obey to all my orders!” the Queen talked to herself very confidently and
gently opened the old book that now in her hand.
Queen Sisilia’s room was a huge building covered by a dome. It’s full of
magical items and antique goods. Magical bookshelves, large mirrors, moveable
paintings are some of the examples. However, the most stunning was a cabinet
full of jars containing the hearts of her rivals. Baron’s heart was in one of the
shelves. It’s only her who knew where the heart of each victim was. There were
also collections of stone statues that she got after putting a spell called
vetrovergia on those who opposed her.
“Brilliant! What about the loser Orlando? Don’t you think he will fight against
us if he knows our plans?” asked Baron.
“Oh, I’ll be responsible for that one, don’t worry! We just need to treat our
grand plan as confidential as possible and l’ll keep him in prism prison. Before
that, I am going to accuse him of stealing royal artifacts. He must be imprisoned
then. You duty is simple, win Abra’s heart and train him well. You understood
Baron?” Queen Sisilia convinced her brother her mischievous strategy.
“This is for the sake of the Magis, the state, the wizards and the glory of our
kingdom. Just imagine if it works, we will become the most powerful kingdom
in Satyabhumi we can even defeat the city of Demenora in Aries and other
kingdoms easily. This time, I'm sure you will be excited if you succeed in
carrying out your duties, because I will return your heart to you, Baron!” Queen
Sisilia tried to persuade her brother to follow her will. She didn’t give him
another choice.
Baron Xaviera was unable to reject his sister’s well-arranged plan. He’ll
automatically become a king of the Magis if another city outside Virgo could be
conquered. Baron had struggled to take over Sisilia’s throne by murdering her.
But Sicilia was too powerful and smarter than he was. After knowing his
brother malicious idea, instead of killing him, the Queen cursed him with
vetrovergia magic spell. That means she took out forcibly his heart from his
body. Under this spell, the victim’s heart or any other body’s organ would be
taken out powerfully but they won’t physically hurt. When the Queen had taken
out the hearts, she would be able to control her victims, as if they were her
slaves. As long as the queen still kept his heart, Baron couldn’t kill her,
otherwise, he himself would be killed.
At that time, Abra was walking quietly in the aisle of the palace. Anyway he
just wanted to relax and have fun. However he saw his father and aunt talked in
private. He was completely shocked and didn’t know what to do after hearing
their conversation. Before anyone knew, before the royal guards caught him, he
went back to his room. He was bewildered, his heart pounded so hard. He really
had no idea what he should do after knowing that his uncle will be imprisoned.
He thought long and hard, considered a lot of things to escape from this palace
before everything was too late.
Suddenly he remembered about the fragmented mirror given by Princess Sofia
he always kept in his pocket. He carefully used the mirror fragment, callsed
Sofia and they could communicate to each other straightaway. Abra told her
everything he heard and asked for her help, to tell his uncle to leave the house
as soon as possible before the queen run, caught him and brought him to the
prism prison guarded by hundreds of Varusha.
Sofia then arranged a plan to deliver Abra’s message to Orlando before it was
too late. Knowing Abra's life was in danger, Sofia and some powerful ghosts
gathered energy and courage to leave their house and went to Orlando’s
residence right away.

Chapter 7
Rescue Mission

Sofia finally arrived at Orlando's house. She was lucky that she could still meet
Orlando to deliver Abra’s message. When Princess Ghost Sofia introduced
herself, Orlando was shocked to see a teddy bear spoke to him. It was his first
experience to see ghosts. He then remembered that Abra had told him about his
friends whose name was Princess Ghost Sofia. After listening to her saying, he
couldn’t control his anger yet also confused how to face the royal armies who
would soon come and catch him.
He then packed his importants stuffs and decided to escape soon. Maybe his
father’s headquarter in the middle of the barren land would be the best hiding
place for him. Unfortunately, the guards had came before he left the house. A
lot of Varushas attacked his house. Some of royal armies blocked the door and
Orlando was unable to escape. He was all alone and to battle againts them was
not a good idea.
He then asked Princess Ghost Sofia to bring the necklace clock to his father. His
purpose was to arrange a strategy so that he would be rescued before he was
slowly killed by the demonic Varushas in prism prison. He also told the princess
how to search for his father. He said that she and her friends needed a
persistence and courage because looking for White Beard Wizard was not easy
at all. The situation was getting worse and they had to rush.
Finally Orlando and Orpal surrendered whilst Princess Sofia still hid in the
kitchen. Luckily they didn’t invade the kitchen so they couldn’t find her and her
ghost friends. After the royal armies and the Varushas catched Orlando and
brought him to the palace. Princess Sofia and her companions hurried to search
for White Beard Wizards by following Orlando’s instruction. Luckily, they
found the headquarter, met the old wise wizard and told him about Queen
Sisilia’s mischievious plan and Orlando who was brought to the royal prison.
For a moment, Oscar thougt what should be done. He then held a meeting in his
hidden tent with other powerful wizards and witches. They organised a strategy
to attack Virgo palace and rescued both Orlando and Abra. They need to do it so
well so that they wouldn’t get caught easily by the royal armies and the
varushas, unless they would fail in saving them. White Beard Witch gave
Princess Sofia a necklace of which the function was to strengthen Sofia’s ghost
form soul. With this necklace, Sofia was also able to strengthen her friend’s
spirits so that they got a more powerful defence outside their house, at least for
quite a long time.
After the transfer of power, Sofia could use the necklace given by White Beard
Wizard to gather all the spirits trapped in the haunted house where she lived.
She controlled all dolls and puppets to form a puppet armies. Now it’s time to
go and do the mission. Led by White Beard Wizads, the Garuda Rebelious
Forces along with the alliance of Virgo witches, they bravely went to the palace
and commence rescuing Orland and Abra.
Chapter 8
Battle of Wizardry

Night fell, sun already set. The atmosphere of the palace was gloomy as quiet as
usual. Oscar had decided that Princess Sofia and the ghost dolls troop would
rescue Abra while he himself would lead his witches to go to the prism prison to
save Orlando. It was more diffucult because the prison was guarded by
Varushas. Since Sofia was a ghost, it is easy for her to enter the palace by
climbling the wall. Her presence wouldn’t be seen by the royal guards. She
found Abra in the highest tower of the palace. His room was heavily guarded.
Sofia and her puppet troop crept on the tower wall. After reaching the window,
they scared the guards by making mystical sounds and some extremely terrible
ghost appearance in various shapes. The walking dolls made the guards run
away. But some of them also battle the tiny troop by uttering alakazam deadly
spells to kill them. Of course it didn’t work because they were all ghosts inside
dolls. It was impossible to kill ghosts. Sofia rushed into Abra’s room and
dragged Abra to get out.
Abra begged Sofia to carry out his final request. Sofia agreed and they
immediately left the room. The ghost dolls and the royal guards were still
fighting. A quiet night turned to a chaotic one.
In the other side of the palace, Oscar and other witches invaded the prism
prison. It was not a usual prison but spacious, huge and layered. Its gate was
protected by strong steels and powerful negation magic barier. Inside, there
were a lot of hidden traps so that they had to be very careful unless they wanted
to be corpses. Malicious Varushas blocked every corner of it.
White Beard Wizard uttered a paralysis spell in the form of a chalk circle trap
which had already smeared with olive oil and had burned. This circle trapped
the Varushas inside and made them unable to move. It’s quite effective because
ordinary spells wouldn’t work to control their sharp scythes. Other wizards tried
to lure them out of the prison and weaken their dark power by cursing them
with a spell of light. Oscar finally found Orlando who was a little weak, in
handcuffs.
“Ezkra Litario!!” He used the spell of liberation which unlocked the shackles
that bound Orlando. Oscar then gave him a glass of a ginseng juice mixed with
forest fairy powder to give him some energy. They immediately rushed to leave
the prison before other Varushas came and catched them. However, when they
reached the gate, they were blocked by a lot of royal guards. Unfortunately, the
battle between Oscar’s wizards and the royal guards was inevitable. However,
the Garuda Rebelious Forces were superior and could control the battle. They
finally repelled the attack of the guards.
Baron had just heard that the palace had been invaded. Soon, he told his sister to
do something.
“I know that this day will come, the old bastard should be in my hand now and I
will destroy his heart immediately with my own hands!” said Queen Sisilia with
full of revenge and hatred. Pandora whispered the Queen to let them enter the
main building, so that they could be trapped and couldn’t move. She agreed
with the idea of her Pamong.
“Petrifio arcarea!!” suddenly the thunderous sound of Queen Sisilia made
everyone afarid. Her spell hit one of Garuda’s member and turned it to a stone
statue. Queen Sisilia and Baron Xaviera came out and they succeeded to set
free all Varushas. Now Garuda Rebellious Forces were repelled instantly. The
battle between the royal guards, Varushas and the rebellious troops broke out.
Two strongest witches of Virgo, Queen Sisilia and White Beard Wizard was
fighting to each other vehemently. Both of them used their highest witchcraft
and wizardry skills. The queen used her stone element and Abra’s grandfather
used his thunder and light element to destroy each other. The sky was thundery
and the atmosphere began to heat. The wizarding war was a stage of wizardry
perfomance. Either the Queen and the old wizard had the same powerful skills.
So did their Pamongs. Pandora and Navi fought furiously. Pandora's tails were
too difficult to defeat. The three cobras tried to wrap around Navi’s claw yet
Navi’s beak was able to hurt Pandora’s body and its tails.
Baron along with Varushas attacked Orlando. Garuda Rebellious Forces
couldn’t help themselves. The varushas and Garuda troops cursed and attacked
each other with each’s magical spells. The palace was severely damaged and
many were wounded. Baron troops were then helped by zombie troops whose
pamongs were Kalong. These giant bats were able to suck their enemy’s blood
and this made Garuda troops and the whitches alliance helpless. With his
magical spell consisted of poison element, Baron finally was able to paralyse
Orlando who only used a protection spell.
Not satisfied with the damage he made, Baron uttered a confinement spell to
make a giant dome which covered all the battle area. This giant magical dome
allowed Baron to take control what happened. White Beard Wizard’s armies
were all caught and forced to surrender. There was no way out and they only
had to choose between surrender and death. The situation was getting worse and
tense. It was the dead end for Oscar, Orlando and their troops.
White Beard Wizard who was a true experienced witch didn’t want to give up
easily despite the difficult situation. Queen Sisilia managed to break his magic
wand and point her own wand at his face.
“Old bastard, which one will you choose, I curse you to be a stone or be my
slave forever?” asked the queen arrogantly. White Beard Wizard refused to
become her slave. He said he’d better die than serving a heartless creature like
her. Queen Sisilia loudly uttered vetrovergia spell on him. She took out his
heart instantly and then squeezed it slowly.
“Your choice is wrong, old man! You should ask for forgiveness for your life
but you chose to die” the Queen squeezed his heart into ashes. Oscar was
tormented, weakened and died. Orlando was helpless, he called out his father
and cried for his father’s death. He was a little bit regretful that he’d not had a
chance to apologise and do something good for him. However, it’s useless to
cry over a split milk. Before Baron put his alakazam spell on Orlando, from a
distance, Abra who was on the back of Oliver the flying elephant, shouted,
“stop all of this fight!!”
Abra begged his aunt and his father to stop fighting and forgive his uncle,
Orlando. When he came, all witches were astonished by Abra’s courage. He
came along with his winged elephant, all his ghost friends and of course
Princess Sofia. Queen Sisilia laughed violently at Abra whom she thought as a
pretentious and naive child. A little naive boy would never to stop her by only
giving a short silly instruction. It was a total non sense for the Queen.
In fact, Abra and his friends were not alone. Queen Serafina and her pamong, a
phoenix tailed peacock came along with him. She walked in elegance and said
to his evil daughter, “Sisilia, it never crossed my mind that you had poisoned
your own mother for the sake of fulfilling your ambition to be Queen of Virgo.
I thanked Abra that he had a special ability to raise the dead. I was raised by my
grandson to punish you!”
Queen Sisilia couldn't believe that her mother whom she had killed was really
alive. At first, she thought that she just saw an illusion. Again, it was a reality.
“Mother, I'm sorry that I have to do this.” Slowly she waved her wand and
cursed his mother with her deadly spell. “I send you to the realm of the dead for
a second time now! Petrifio arcarea!” Unexpectedly, Queen Serafina had set a
trap spell for Sisilia. It was reflexio speculum spell that was able to reverse all
kinds of spells. All the spells would attack the attacker back, much more like a
mirror with its reflection.
“You have to be responsible for your self and all evil things you did Sisilia!
Rest forever in the form of statue you adored!” Queen Serafina said with a lot
regret. She was actually upset to be betrayed by her daughter.
Queen Sisilia turned into stone and Baron’s heart returned back to his body.
Orlando immediately uttered a spell to paralyse Baron who was off guard.
Queen Serafina took control all the varushas and stopped the fierce magic battle
among the Magis. Orlando ran to hug his nephew and cried.
“Don't go away from me, son. I apologise for everything that happened. I'm
glad you survived!!” he said.
Abra also hug his uncle's arms more tightly and sobbed. “Uncle, I miss you
uncle. Never leave me again, Uncle Orlando.” It was full of emotions to finally
reunite after all the kidnapping scenario, rescue mission and magic fights.
Queen Serafina explained everything to Orlando and also apologised for
everything. Princess Ghost Sofia and Abra secretly went to royal cemetery to
raise her. There was no choice. Abra sacrificed himself to save his uncle and
grandfather from her own children’s wicked intention. Therefore, Queen
Serafina felt that she was deeply indebted to Abra and willing to fulfill all his
requests not to stay in Virgo Palace.
In addition, Queen Serafina promised to take over the throne of her daughter
and bring back the honour of Virgo royal family which had been ruined by her
daugther. She would imprisoned Baron in prism prison for his entire life and put
Sisilia stone statue there, which had been sealed by a powerfull protection spell.
With this strong spell, she couldn’t breathe or moved. It was her eternal
punishment and she was responsible for every crime she commited.
At the end, Abra decided to follow his uncle and live with him. They would be
back to his old routine to scavenge rubbish, create magical items and manage
Orlando’s little magic shop in the suburb of Galiera. But now Abra got a friend,
the winged little elephant, Oliver. Princess Ghost Sofia and Mr. Mismagus were
also still his best companions. After the great incident, everything run well.
They enjoyed their life peacefully and live together happily as a unique, small
family. There will be a new adventure for Abra, maybe someday.
