HOW TO REGISTER:
1. Registration is done online only.
2. Registration is NOT COMPLETE until the campers health form dated within the past two years are received.
3. A non-refundable deposit ($50) a week is due at the time of registration to reserve your Week(s)
4. The balance of camp fees is due by the Wednesday before the week your child starts camp.
5. There is a one-time none-refundable $50 registration fee.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Cancelations before June 15 are eligible for a 50% refund. Cancelations after June 15 are not eligible for any
refunds and all balances must be paid in full regardless if the child attends camp.

(3 year olds must be potty trained and in preschool)
Monday–Friday 8:30 am -12:30 pm
During their time at Hafaday, our campers will improve their swimming ability and their knowledge of water safety. YMCA
Camp Hafaday runs primarily inside the YMCA Bedford Family Center, using our indoor pool, gymnasium and meeting room.
Campers go outside for activities and nature walks. Each Friday, parents are invited to observe their child’s swim lesson!

CAMP HAFADAY ACTIVITIES

YMCA Camp Hafaday fits a lot of fun into a four hour program. Activities will allow campers to learn new skills and to develop
the ones they already have. Hafaday activities include: Swim Lessons based on the camper’s current swim level and goals. Arts
& Crafts allowing us to be creative. Free Swim gives campers a chance to have fun and to practice new skills. Gym Time is held
indoors in the gymnasium.
PRE-CARE and MAHACKENO AFTERNOONS GRADE K & UP
Pre-Care opens at 7:30 am for early drop off. Cost $55
Available for children 5 and up who are in the Hafaday program! Kids will join Camp Mahackeno in the afternoon
to make a full day of fun at camp!
Post Care is available for those in the Mahackeno Afternoon program until 6:00pm. Cost $80.

YMCA Camp Mahackeno and Camp Hafaday Program Information
Payment Options: Pay in full: Families can pay off the entire balance at the time of registration if they
choose. Payment Plan: Using an EFT system, the YMCA will charge your account in equal payments over a set
period of time. Payments for each session must be paid in full by the Wednesday before the week your child
starts camp. Authorization of payments applies to all weeks that the child is registered for.

Well-Trained Staff & High Standards: At the YMCA, your camper’s welfare is the number-one
priority. The staff members are trained to understand the varying needs of children. In order to provide safe,
quality experiences for children, the screening, training, and supervising of our staff is imperative. Our
directors work closely with applicants to ensure that camp has quality individuals who demonstrate a mature
attitude, sound judgment and an ability to relate to children. Staff members receive comprehensive on-site
training, which includes child abuse prevention, risk management, and basic water safety.
Quality Programs: The Westport Weston Family YMCA has over 80 years of experience providing fun, safe
camping programs. Your child will be encouraged to learn new skills and try new activities. The possibilities of
fun and adventure are endless. Through programs and modeling, children come to a better understanding of the
core values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. The safety of each camper is our primary
concern. YMCA Camp Mahackeno meets the 300 standards-of-excellence of the American Camp
Association, as well as all state licensing standards.

Age Group Ratios: I n accordance with State of Connecticut policy, as well as the American Camping
Association Accreditation, Westport camp programs strive to maintain the best staff-to-camper ratio possible.
Ratios are typically smaller at waterfronts, as well as when we take field trips or leave camp.

In June of 2020 the YMCA opened its newly renovated Camp
Mahackno. With so many new and updated featured children are guaranteed to
have a fun screen free summer!
The NEW outdoor pool area features a large “L” shaped pool that was designed to provide
exceptional life-saving swim lesson with enough room for our campers to enjoy free
swim. The NEW splash pad is perfect for children of all ages to run around in, acclimate
to water and cool off during the hot summer days!

NEW Adventures are always on the schedule at Y summer camps and with the new
Bouldering Wall, Giant Slides, Archery area, Multi-Use Sports Field and Basketball Court,
Canoeing and playground, trying new things, building new skills and having a summer to
