DRAW HISTOGRAM ON MINITAB

Introduction:
A histogram is an accurate representation of the distribution of numerical data. It is an estimate
of the probability distribution of a continuous variable. It is a kind of bar graph. In this lab we
will plot a histogram. Histogram gives full detail of our data. it was first introduced by Karl
Pearson.

Objective:
The objective of the lab is to know about histogram, method to plot histogram and the result
obtain from histogram.

Problem Statement:
The daily sales (in $) of some products in June given below.Draw a histogram of data?

255.96 264.09 253.88 253.46 256.25 258.25 262.19 256.03 258.05 262.81 263.63 260.49
251.45 258.68 249.96

Procedure:

 Ist of all Put all the data in column of the Minitab worksheet. 

Figure 1 data input

 Give variable name .

 Click on “Graph” option and then click on “Histogram”.
 then click on “OK”.

 Choose the variable you want to graph and click on SELECT option as in fig 2

 Then click on stat, basic statistics, display descriptive statistics the window will
appear.
 Then click on statistics to mark the required statistics as shown in fig 3.

 Then click on the graph and select the required HISTOGRAM and then click on ok as
shown in figure 4.

CONCLUSION:
The conclusion of this lab is one can easily draw histogram on miniTAB and can easily
understand any data.
