eases from your local service organization and the corresponding national
and customer-specific hygiene guidelines and regulations.
CAUTION
Risk of being burned by hot parts or components!
Non-compliance can lead to minor or moderate burns, especially on the hands.
Removing the covers exposes parts or components (e.g. power components,
heat sinks, solenoid brakes) that may exceed temperatures of > 50˚ Celsius
when in operation.
To prevent burns, switch off the system power supply before contacting any
parts or components and let the system cool off for at least five minutes be‐
fore resuming work.
CAUTION
Electrical voltage!
Non-compliance can lead to property damage.
ESD protection guidelines must be observed when performing service.
WARNING
X-ray radiation!
Non-compliance can lead to illness, irreversible damage to body cells and the gen‐
otype, severe injury, and even death.
During functional system checks where radiation must be released, compliance
with the radiation protection directives and the rules for radiation protection of
your service organization is mandatory.
Please note:
Use available radiation protection devices.

Wear radiation protection clothing (a lead apron).
Stay as far away as possible from the radiation source.
Release radiation only if necessary.
Set the radiation activity as low as possible (low kV and mA values, short radi‐
ation time).
Release radiation for as short a time as possible.
Checks requiring the release of radiation are identified by the radiation warn‐
ing symbol shown on the left.
WARNING
The optionally installed navigation system may be out of tolerance.
Once these service tasks have been performed, the accuracy of an optionally in‐
stalled navigation system is no longer guaranteed.
If an optionally installed navigation system is present, the customer must be
notified that the accuracy of the installed navigation system is no longer guar‐
anteed, and that the navigation system must be checked and certified before
it is used again.
2.1 Preparations
To remove the C-arm cable, the top cover has to be lifted up approximately 5 cm (2 in).
n Remove the rear U-shaped cover from the main system. The emergency stop button
must be disconnected. If needed, remove the protective earth wire connection of the
rear cover.

n Loosen the small cover around the vertical lifting column. This cover is held in place
by double-sided tape. See ( Fig. 3 Page 11).
n Remove the four hexagon socket screws (M8) from around the vertical lifting column.
See ( Fig. 4 Page 11).

n Remove the two 6 mm lower fastening screws ( Fig. 5 Page 11) on the inside of the
main system.
n Remove the D1.X3 control console connection. See ( Fig. 6 Page 11).
n Remove (lift up) the plastic cover around the steering lever ( Fig. 7 Page 12). The
plastic cover is held in place by double-sided tape.
n Remove the two 6 mm screws ( 1/Fig. 8 Page 12) from the steering mechanics.
n Remove the four screws ( 2/Fig. 8 Page 12) of the cover plate.

NOTICE
DO NOT lift up the metal plate ( 1/Fig. 10 Page 13) below the top cover
( 2/Fig. 10 Page 13)!
Otherwise the steering shaft is also lifted and will disengage from the plastic sup‐
port at the bottom side of the steering shaft!
This can cause the steering chain to fall off and down from the toothed wheel and
it must be reinstalled!
Lift up only the top cover ( 2/Fig. 10 Page 13) (the plastic part).
When you are lifting up the top cover, hold down the metal plate
( 1/Fig. 10 Page 13) below the top cover.

n The C-arm cable passes through the top cover. See ( Fig. 11 Page 14).
n Carefully lift up the top cover at the front and rear side to remove the C-arm cable.
n Position a wooden block or a similar object between the top cover and the metal
plate. See ( Fig. 12 Page 14).
n Press the cable connection downwards out of the top cover.
n If needed, lift the top cover a little higher so that the cable connection can be com‐
pletely removed from the top cover.

n Fastening for some these cables listed above include grounding clamps, plastic clips,
or cable ties. Remove the grounding clamps, plastic clips or cable ties and take note of
the location of the fastening points of these cables.
n Remove the main grounding clamp ( arrow/Fig. 15 Page 16) of the C-arm cable.
The C-arm cable can now be pulled out of the main system.
* Depending on the model number of the SIREMOBIL Compact L, you may not have all
connections listed.
There are 2 protective earth wires. The wire with the larger diameter can stay in the C-
arm.
This wire connects the SIREPHOS and I.I.
SIREMOBIL Compact L:
n Check the connector M61.D120.X1.8. If a black ground wire is present, remove this
wire using press-out tool 07141331.
In these systems, the I.I. mini power supply type II is installed. This I.I. mini power supply
II is split into a high-voltage part and a control part. The high-voltage part
( 3/Fig. 16 Page 17) is installed inside a cutout of the C-arm. The high-voltage part
needs to be removed to make room for the old and new C-arm cable to pass through.

n Remove the foam rubber bumper of the I.I. connection. See ( 1/Fig. 16 Page 17).
n Remove the two 2.5 mm screws ( 2/Fig. 16 Page 17) from the cover.
n Remove the cover and pull out the high-voltage part of the I.I. power supply. See
( Fig. 17 Page 17).
It should not be necessary to disconnect the wires running from the control part of the
I.I. power supply and to disconnect the high-voltage wires running from the I.I. to the
high-voltage part of the I.I. power supply.
To make room for the cables to pass through, it is necessary to remove the I.I.

SIREMOBIL Compact with 17 cm (7 in) I.I: In this position you can leave all high-voltage
wires from the I.I. connected at the I.I. power supply.
n Take note of what cable is passed through what breakout of the I.I. support. See
( arrows/Fig. 20 Page 19). The new cables will need to pass through the same
breakout of the I.I. support. If possible, take a photograph.

n Now pull the cables from the top of the I.I. support through the I.I. support breakouts.
n For an easier installation of the new cables, tie 2 guidewires to the old cables.
n SIREMOBIL Compact L with 17 cm (7 in) I.I. If the cables connected to the high-volt‐
age part of the I.I. are too short, disconnect all cables and pull these out of the I.I. sup‐
port.
n Detach the C-arm cable from the C-arm by removing the two 3 mm Allen screws. See
( Fig. 21 Page 19).

n Remove the X30 connector from SIREPHOS. See ( Fig. 22 Page 20).
n Remove one of the securing clamps from the X30 connector housing. You must do
this to remove the X30 connector housing through the small C-arm opening. See
( Fig. 23 Page 20).
n If a laser light localizer is installed:
Desolder the white wire from the laser light localizer solder tag strip X55.1 or
loosen it from the laser light localizer clip strip X55.1
Desolder the grey wire from the laser light localizer solder tag strip X55.4 or
loosen it from the laser light localizer clip strip X55.4.
Loosen the fastening screws from the laser light localizer and remove it.
Disconnect the X32 connector and remove one half shell of the connector
housing and the two fastening bolts. Use a small screwdriver to release the
locks. You must do this to remove the X32 connector housing through the
small C-arm opening. See ( Fig. 24 Page 21).
Loosen the fastening screws or bolts from the DAP / Air Kerma measurement
device and remove it.
n On the collimator:
Remove the fastening screws or bolts, holding the white top cover of the colli‐
mator and remove the top cover.
Remove the Z66.X1 connection.
n On the SIREPHOS, remove the two protective earth wires from the SIREPHOS housing
(on the small side of the SIREPHOS, near the C-arm). See ( Fig. 22 Page 20).
There are 2 protective earth wires. The protective earth wire with the larger diameter
runs inside the C-arm from the SIREPHOS to the I.I. and can stay in the C-arm.

n Remove the foam rubber bumper ( arrow/Fig. 25 Page 22) from the connection be‐
tween the SIREPHOS and the C-arm.
Before loosening any SIREPHOS fastening screws ( Fig. 26 Page 22), check that the SIR‐
EPHOS is resting on the table.
n Remove the two fastening screws from the SIREPHOS mounting bolt. See
( Fig. 26 Page 22).
n Remove the SIREPHOS and place it on a stable surface.

n Peel back the orbital angle tape to expose the two 5 mm screws. See
( arrow/Fig. 27 Page 23).
n Remove the two 5 mm screws.
n Remove the counter balance weight ( arrow/Fig. 28 Page 23).
To aid in installation of the new C-arm cable, tie two guidewires to this group of wires.
n From the C-arm cable connection on the C-arm ( Fig. 29 Page 23), first pull out the
protective earth wire, the wire with the X32 connector, and the wire with the Z66.X1
connector.
n Be sure that the previously fastened guidewire stays inside the C-arm. Loosen the fas‐
tened end of the guidewire from the X32 or Z66.X1 connector.
n Pull out the wire with the X30 connector.
n Be sure that the previously fastened guidewire stays inside the C-arm. Loosen the fas‐
tened end of the guidewire from the X30 connector.
Now all wires from the multi-core C-arm cable should be outside of the C-arm.
If not, pull out the rest of the C-arm wires.
3.1.12 Loosening the C-arm cable holder from the bearing assembly

On some C-arms the edges of the C-arm opening ( arrows/Fig. 31 Page 25) are very
sharp and can cut the insulation of the C-arm cable.
To prevent damage to the new C-arm cable, check the edges around the opening prior
to installing the new C-arm cable.
n Wear gloves and check the inner and outer edges of the C-arm opening.
n If needed, insert a tissue in the opening of the C-arm and remove the burr on the
edges with a file.
n Remove any chips from inside the C-arm.

n Remove one of the securing clamps from the X30 connector housing. You must do
this to remove the X30 connector housing through the small C-arm opening. See
( Fig. 32 Page 26).
n Remove one half shell of the connector housing and the two fastening bolts. Use a
small screwdriver to release the locks. You must do this to remove the X32 connector
housing through the small C-arm opening. See ( Fig. 33 Page 26).
n Use one of the guidewires and insert the X30 connector through the opening of the C-
arm as shown in ( Fig. 32 Page 26) and pull the wires to the end of the C-arm (the
SIREPHOS side).
n Use the second guidewire and pull the protective earth wire, the wires with X32 con‐
nector, and the wires with Z66.X1 connector through the opening to the end of the C-
arm (the SIREPHOS side).
The wires / connectors running to the I.I. are listed in the previous section “Removing the
I.I. connections” in these instructions.
n Route the protective connector wires to the grounding screw, located near the Z1
noise reduction filter and fasten it. See ( Fig. 13 Page 15).
n Route the BNC connector X1 (video data) to the BNC connector X1
( Fig. 13 Page 15).
n Install the cable clamp on the shielding of the coaxial cable (video data cable).
n Route the wires with the connectors D1.X2 and D1.X13 to the D1 board and connect
it.
n Route the wires with the connectors D2.X3 and D2.X4 to the D2 board and connect it.
n Route the wire with the D3.X3 connector to the D3.X3 board and connect it.
n ARCADIS Varic: Route the wire with the X2 connector ( Fig. 14 Page 15) to the X2
connector and connect it.
n Reinstall all previously loosened grounding clamps. Be sure that the cable shieldings
have good contact with the ground.
n Use cable ties and secure the cables / wires.
Perform this short test of the protective earth resistance values to ensure the correct wir‐
ing of the protective earth wires of the new C-arm cable and for your own safety.
n Before closing the covers, perform a protective earth wire resistance test in accord‐
ance with IEC 62353.
n Check the protective earth wire resistance at the following measurement points:
At the monitor trolley rear side and at a cover screw near the ON/OFF assembly
group
For the main system, at the exposed metal of the electronics box.
For the main system, the vertical lifting column
For the main system, I.I. holder
For the main system, I.I. cover screw
For the main system, SIREPHOS, at the fastening screw of the protective earth
wire.
For the main system, C-arm (exposed metal)
n If the result is OK, connect the monitor trolley to the wall socket and switch it on.
3.2.13 Checks
n Connect the main system with the monitor trolley (the X10 connector).
n Plug the mains cable connector to the mains (wall) socket.
n Switch on the unit and wait until it is ready for use.
No error messages may be displayed.

Use the IQ Quick test to check the basic functions of the system. Enter the tested val‐
ues in a new IQ Quick test document.
n Check the basic functions of the options (if installed):
X Cassette holder (direct exposure)
Integrated laser light localizer (I.I. side)
Laser light localizer (SIREPHOS side)
X DAP/Air kerma measurement device
n Enter the test descriptions and the results in a new IEC 62353 protocol in the “Func‐
tional checks” - “Functional checks defined by tester” section. See below, “Final work
steps” section - and the sub section “IEC 62353 protocol”
WARNING
The optionally installed navigation system may be out of tolerance.
Once these service tasks have been performed, the accuracy of an optionally in‐
stalled navigation system is no longer guaranteed.
If an optional navigation system is present, the customer must be informed
that the accuracy of the optionally installed navigation system is no longer
guaranteed and the optionally installed navigation system must be checked
and certified before it is used again.
