Epoxy and hardener must be above 65°F before use. May have to
store in room for 24-48 hrs. if temperature is lower.
Floor must be above 65°F. Epoxy will not harden below 65°F
(18.3.°C)
Entire contents of hardener must be added and thoroughly mixed
before pouring.

1.2 Precautions
– Epoxy resins may sensitize certain personnel.
– Wear protective clothing, plastic gloves and chemical splash
goggles.
– Avoid inhaling fumes.
– Wash skin and clothes with soap and water only.
– If eye contact occurs, flush immediately with clean water
and consult a physician.
– Seller makes no warranty and user assumes all risks with
respect to the use of this product.

department personnel have left. This also allows over night
for curing.

1.4 Preparing Floor

1) Use planning guide to determine exact gantry location.
2) Seal any holes or large cracks in floor with the tape sup-
plied.
3) Cut out floor plate template (35 60 799). Be sure to cut out
rear patient bed template and tape to main floor plate tem-
plate (Figure 1)

Note
Note
Floor plate template is designed to be used with standard and
extended base plates. See fig. 2

4) Tape floor plate template to the floor at gantry location.
5) Layout foam frame on outline. Use serrated or razor knife to
cut foam. Cut foam so that all pieces end at corners. For
rounded corners, do not cut foam all the way through. In
this way the foam partially cut will more easily form to the
curve (Figure 1).
6) Peel white tape from foam and affix to floor on outline with
brown paper tape facing in towards where the floor plate
will be situated.
7) Remove template from inside foam.
8) Seal all corners (foam junctions) with tape on inside of
frame (Figure 1).

9) Apply wax with finger to floor/foam joint to seal (Figure 3)

10) Apply generous wax coating to entire floor area inside foam
frame.

1.5 Determine Amount of Epoxy

To prevent the E.CAM from being too high above floor in relation
to the Patient Bed and Collimator Servers, only enough epoxy to
level the floor beneath the floor plate is desired. On a mostly level
floor pour only slightly more than one-half (1/2) the contents of
the epoxy mixture. For more uneven floors, pour more. In most
cases two-thirds (2/3) of the epoxy is enough.

1.6 Mixing Epoxy

1) Open 50lb. container of epoxy.
2) Using drill-stirrer combination (conventional drill with mix-
ing paddle), pre-mix contents of 50lb. can for approxi-
mately 2 minutes.
a) Stir tool must reach bottom of bucket.
b) Move stir tool around perimeter of bucket and up and
down.
c) Do not move stir tool up so high as to cause air to be
mixed with liquid grout.
3) Open hardener and carefully add to epoxy. POUR ENTIRE
CONTENTS OF HARDENER INTO GROUT. Avoid
splashing.
4) With drill-stirrer, mix epoxy and hardener for approxi-
mately 3 minutes or until thoroughly mixed.
a) Stir tool must reach bottom of bucket.
b) Move stir tool around perimeter of bucket and up and
down.
c) Do not move stir tool up so high as to cause air to be
mixed with liquid grout.
5) Pour contents into frame area where floor seems to be the
highest. Pour in one spot only. Do not move bucket
around while pouring.

1.7 Completing Floor

1) After curing (approximately 8 hours) remove foam from
perimeter of poured floor.
2) Discard foam.
3) Use a rasp to put a 1/8” chamfer on edges of floor. Smooth
epoxy of any rough spots caused by bubbles with rasp. End.
