Our Product: ​A microclimate dome that can be used on Mars.

Empathy:​ U
​ nderstanding the problem the necessities of humans to

survive in unique environments.

● Observe:​Space is dangerous, and has a lot of complicated

variables to take into account.

● Engage: ​We want space to be less dangerous

● Immerse:​We will make the dome safe to make it less

dangerous.

● What do people care about and find important?

 ○ People care about a dome that will be safe and

reliable. They don’t want to live in a safety hazard.

● What do they need?

○ Air or some sort of artificial atmosphere

○ Sunlight or other form of art

○ Protection from cosmic radiation

○ Protection from sandstorms

○ Livable temperature (4-35 degrees celsius)

Identify Possible Problems to Solve

● This could cost a great sum of money.

○ This would ideally be an effort of multiple groups to

ensure that the costs are lowered for each group.

● The transportation of dome will be difficult

○ While this would take a lot of time and money, sending

materials on separate trips would be the most

efficient.

● This project would take a great deal of time.

○ Lots of research and planning would take place to

ensure that the project is completed in a timely

manner.

● This project would take a lot of research and materials.

○ This collaborative project between different space

exploration groups, meaning that each group would not

have to provide for the entire project.

● It is hard to create a livable atmosphere for humans.

○ We will make sure the dome is air tight and also make

an environment with plants and or other organisms to

make a livable environment.

● It is difficult to regulate the temperature in an

unfamiliar environment.

○ Regulate amount of greenhouse gases for correct amount

of heating

● It would be difficult to know if people would like to live

on a different planet.

○ A survey would be published to gauge the size of this

operation, so we can adjust our research and planning

accordingly.
