One of the ethical dilemmas that I have encountered is

when my best friend was having a really big financial

problem. He asked me to help him financially. My
dilemma was that I helped him twice on similar
problems. We both know what the cause of his financial
problem. He was addicted to gambling. I helped him
twice financially to save his business, and he still
went to bankruptcy, the money was also never returned.
This time, I have to refuse to help him, I was being
honest to him by telling that I couldn't help him this
time, he is running in circle, facing the same problem
(in which we did try hard to end his gambling
addiction) and also my wife didn't not agree to help
him again. He was very disappointed because he said
that I was his last hope and he badly need the money to
save his ass from a loan shark. And I did feel bad
about it, because he always helps me whenever I need.
The only thing I could do to him was to talk to the
loan shark to give him more time, and thankfully they
did.

He is now still on the same situation, bankruptcy and

big debts. I'm still helping him, not financially, but
I tried to boost his motivation to be able to come
back, introducing him to a potential customers and
suppliers, getting fresh ideas to rebuild his business,
and keeping him away from his bad addiction.
