Alison's Routine
At the moment of waking up from a
lucid (or not so lucid) dream, I hear the
sound of my cell phone alarm, with an
annoying ringing, I get up and I barely
stretch my arms so that my body's
blood flows again. Although I hate the
sound of that alarm, I would not be able
to wake up on time if it were not for it.
Sometimes, it's hard to get up in the morning, but
the hard part will become even harder as you wait
longer! I put the sheets away from my bed and with a
heavy heart I put on my slippers. Fortunately, my
morning coffee makes me perk up, so with a little
more energy, I turn on my laptop and look through my
Messages and dash off quick replies, if the laptop is
turned off, I reply the messages through the phone.
After being sure that I have answered everything and
that my stomach is full, I proceed to take off my
pajamas, then wash up. Next, I pick out a simple
outfit to wear around the house. If I'm going out
(rarely) I wear something more decent.
After being satisfied with myself, I turn on the laptop and plug it in if it's discharged. I
start to do my homework, pending work… If I have completed all my tasks, I will take
the opportunity to work out, getting in shape is very important too! health comes first,
doesn't it? When I'm done, I can help my mom wash the dishes, or maybe I can tidy up
my room. I can even meet up with friends and play a little on the internet if there isn't
much work. Before the quarantine, there were many plans out there, Now it is
impossible. As the day goes by, the routine repeats itself. On a typical day, there is not
much I can say. I could look for new plans on which to spend my time: Keep studying,
watch series, check YouTube, read my favorite book, listen to music or even
podcasts... When I feel tired, I go back to the bathroom. I put my pajamas back on,
comb my hair, do my skincare, clean my teeth, the usual. Eventually, I lie down in my
bed and if I am tired enough I doze off.
Sometimes my routine can change abruptly. It also depends if it is
a weekday or even a holiday. I stay in bed for longer than normal
on Sunday. I get up at 9:30 instead of 8:00. Even the month
depends on my routine: if it is January and my cousins come, I will
have to pick them up from the daycare. My uncle usually asks me
for favors when he is late at work, he is a carpenter so he does
not rest even on holidays. Similarly, my classmates can ask me
for special favors. Even my singing teacher might change the time
of the study sessions!
Fun Fact:
When I was younger, I had Coulrophobia (Clown phobia).
Nevertheless, now I love them. And I'm not exaggerating! Do
you want a balloon? 🎈
The End
Thanks for your
attention!
THANKS!
