Kasongan Village is located in the south of Yogyakarta city, approximately 6 km from the city
center, to be precise Dusun Kajen, Desa Bangunjiwo, Kecamatan Kasihan, Kabupaten Bantul. Pottery is
a clay pot that is formed and then burned as tools to help human life. Pottery crafts are most commonly
found in the form of jars, pots, tables, chairs, and others. Here we can find pottery handicraft centers,
which produce hundreds or even thousands of ceramics of various types, shapes and sizes. Driven by
more than 300 craftsmen, who absorb more than a thousand workers, this craft center is able to penetrate
the international pottery market. Showrooms that are lined up neatly on either side of the road, combined
with workshops of craftsmen, where we can directly make ceramics, and the Kasongan art festival which
is routinely held every year, makes Kasongan a memorable craft tour for anyone who visits it.
