“THE TALE OF THE THREE BROTHERS” By JK Rowling

Anticipatory Set

Students will be asked several questions so the teacher can see how
much knowledge does the students have on what the reading is about and
who the author is.

1) Who is JK Rowling? (Joanne “Kathleen” Rowling).


2) Do you know any titles of her works?
3) Names of any character beside from Harry Potter.
4) What do you think about the phrase “be careful what you wish for”?
What does it mean for you?

After this, the tale will be introduced.

Objectives

Students will be able to:

• Reinforce their reading ability while reading and following the tale.

• Develop critical thinking by writing ideas of how to give a new ending to


a tale.

Instructional Input

The teacher will hand each student a copy of the reading and other with
questions in a page.

The teacher is going to ask the students to read the tale so they can follow
along and improve their reading ability.

Modeling

The teacher is going to analyze the story to see characters’ behavior and
how it affects their decisions so the students understand how every action
has a consequence.

Checking for Understanding


The teacher will ask the students to put their copies facing down and take
out the page with the questions.

The teacher will start making the questions about the tale to make sure the
students are clear with what happened in the reading

Guided Practice

The teacher will ask the students to get together in groups of 4 or 5 and
make up their own new ending to the story.

The teacher will walk around to check that everybody is participating while
creating the new ending.

Independence Practice

The teacher will ask each student to write in a page, which of the three
objects the brothers asked for do they desire the most and what would
they do with it and how they think this object would impact their lives in a
positive or negative way, as a personal opinion and then share it with the
class.
