General Clauses:
1. It is important to note that the employer will be expecting you to perform normal job
functions during the course of the co-op. You will perform tasks to the best of your
ability.
2. Your employer’s contract (if any) will supersede this contract, as long as it does not
interfere with your study hours once the co-op term ends.
3. You may be on probation during the first few months of your co-op to better
evaluate the employment relationship.
4. Failure to comply with the employer’s workplace policies and procedures will result
in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
5. If you are unable to attend co-op because of sickness, your supervisor or Co-Op
Placement Officer should be informed as soon as possible. The likely date of return
should also be provided.
7. You must honor this contract and the contract signed with the employer (if any) and
must complete the contract dates as agreed upon.
8. If you are rightfully fired, you will be dismissed from SELC Career College.
9. If differences between you and the company arise, you should make attempts to
solve them through personal talks. You should also inform the Co-Op Placement
Officer at SELC Career College.
10. If you are dissatisfied with your position, it is your responsibility to contact the Co-
Op Placement Officer at SELC Career College before you quit your placement.
The institution, the host and the student have agreed as follows:
The student will attend the training session within the hours outlined by the host.
The host will familiarize the student with the policies and procedures that are in place
at the work experience site and will ensure that the student is supervised at all times
while completing the co-op placement.
The host will maintain a record of the student’s attendance at the co-op site and will
immediately report any concerns to the institution.
The student will maintain a record of tasks completed during the co-op placement and
will immediately report any concerns to the institution.
The institution will immediately address any concerns reported by the host or the student.
During the co-op placement, the host company will provide the opportunity for the student to
complete various tasks and develop key competencies related to:
