Hello My Dear Readers, I am Samanvitha from grade 4B.

Today I have a very interesting blog for you

all. It is about indoor and outdoor activities. We all know and love the indoors and, outdoors don’t
we? I am sure we all do.

Games and activities are fun! They help us to stay fit and also allow us to communicate with others
and work together with family and friends. The more friends we have to play games, the merrier it
is! Outdoor activities as the name says are activities which are played outside like park, garden, yard,
playground etc. But what would we do on a rainy day or a cold day or a very sunny day or something
unexpected like the pandemic quarantine and stay home lock downs? Well, we can choose Indoor
activities which are played inside, all we need is a small space or a table etc. Let me tell you more
about these games or activities and the benefits.

I am sure your mother would love you to be active and get some fresh air while you have fun playing
with friends. Outdoor games are a good way for staying healthy as they provide some good exercise
to your body. We have learnt in our IDP class that Vitamin D is vital for our body, spending time in
the great outdoors gives us sun exposure which is the best way to get Vitamin D. I am sure you
already know and play some outdoor activities, here are some games that I love to play. Hide and
Seek, Sardines, Hopscotch, Tippy Tippy Tap, Frisbee, Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Cricket etc. Some of these
are best played in a big group. Do you also admire any of these outdoor games?

There are times when we have to stay at home or travel for long hours in train or car etc. Certainly
we can’t play outdoor games but we can make the best of our time and do things together that are
enriching for everyone in the family by some indoor activities. Painting, Colouring, Tic-tac-toe, Simon
says, Rock-Paper-Scissors, Don’t step on the Lava, Duck - Duck - Goose, Treasure hunt, Charades,
Hangman, Business, Chess, Caroms , Checkers and the list goes on. Indoor games help us improve
memory and motor skills and, intellectual thinking. Video games which are fun are also indoors but
studies say that they have negative effect on brain and health. Indoor gardening is another activity
which is fun and also help you learn about plants. Lately, I have developed interest in this and
started growing microgreens from food in the kitchen like mustard seeds, Fenugreek seeds, chia
seeds etc.

Some games can be played indoor and outdoor as well. I know we all become creative when it
comes to these activities and sometimes we get too creative that we develop our own games, don’t
we? The selection of games is endless! Playing Indoor and outdoor activities not only develop mental
and physical strength but also improve knowledge, leadership skills, positive thinking. I hope you
enjoyed this blog as much as you enjoy playing indoor and outdoor activities. Thank you for
reading!!
