Findings

The statistical treatment and analysis of data brought about the following vital findings of

this study.

 What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of:

 Age

It shows the age distribution of the respondents from grade 12 – HUMMS

1 &2, GAS 1, ABM, ICT 1 &2 and HE. The respondents in the 18 age group

have the highest frequency.

 Gender

The percentage of female is higher than the male respondents because the

female respondents were more available than male during time of survey.

Also it was noted that the female population is usually greater in the male

population in classroom settings and this also make sense that most of the

female respondents are much interested in online dating sites .

 Taken on the findings of the study that online dating does not affect the students’

personal relationships and abilities to interact with others in a face-to-face situation.

 This study have found out that some of the students tend not to taken on consideration

the risks regarding this online dating where the results on the gathered data shows the

impulsive actions of this users where they have experienced meet up on their chat mate

not having thoughts if that person they meet online is true to them .
 As for the whole findings of the study , awareness is that important in using online dating

because the users are getting younger ranging on the age of 16- 23 years old these users

are in need to be informed about the risks and limitations for them not be in danger .

Conclusion

The main objective of the study is to determine what are the behavioural

effects of Online dating sites/ services on the Grade 12 Senior High School students at

Taguig National High School .It aimed to determine the status of the students’ social

interaction with their fellow students , risks that they might face in using this internet dating

sites / services and the importance of awareness in using internet dating among these Senior

High School students .

Based on the results of the survey questionnaires from the respondents of Grade 12

Senior High School students which are consisting of AT-HUMMS 1, AT- HUMMS2, AT-

ABM, AT- GAS 1, TVL-ICT1, TVL-ICT2, and TVL-HE:

1. Respondent’s Profile

Majority of the respondents are seventeen (17) to eighteen (18) years old

because all of the respondents are Grade 12 Senior High School that ranges

from ages sixteen (16) to twenty-three (23) years old because they knew the

popularity of online dating and most commonly users of online dating .

2. Effects of Online Dating Services on the Behavior of the Grade 12 Senior

High School Students


 Most of the students know their limitation in spending time in using

online dating sites /services that is a good thing because they will not

be attached and get affected in some way.

 Respondents agreed that slow internet connection is the reason of

their irritation whenever they are using online dating sites ,

concluding there is a negative effect on their behavior that they don’t

know how to control their emotions just by this having a slow

connection .

 Much of the population didn’t have trust issues on their online chat

mate even though they are far from each other which means that

online dating taught them to play around on relationships because

they are not serious in this matter.

 Most of the respondents strongly disagreed that they lost the bind with

their real friends because they knew how to separate their personal

relationships on real life from this virtual world of online dating sites .

 Mass of the population agreed that they felt shy every time there is

someone peeking on the conversation between his/her online partner,

obviously they want their communication private even though online

dating is kind of a publicity making them a secretive individual.

 Students didn’t think that using online dating is their escape in the real

life.
 Students are chained in online dating because they feel comfortable

saying anything to strangers because they won’t be judged and they

are afraid to open up with their colleagues.

 Based on the respondents there are some students have experienced

meeting up with their online chat mate not considering it is a

dangerous act.

 Most of the students got easily attached in chatting someone in a short

time because they felt easier to interact online having a high

possibility of experiencing rejection many times the thought of there

are many users in online dating that they might encounter .

 The respondents agreed that they feel inspired whenever they are

motivated by their chat mate because ,it is easy to communicate

online than to the person in front of them an d it is more

overwhelming for them so they gain these motivations they are

getting from online dating to bring their self-up.

 Majority of the respondents strongly disagreed about online dating

sites as better on finding potential partner than on traditional way.

 Most of the respondents agreed that they knew their limitation

regarding the usage of online dating sites/services.

 Students have the knowledge not to trust someone that easy on

internet dating.

 Much of the population ends the conversations when someone is

starting to reply malicious messages because it’s not their thing.


 Students have strongly agreed on not giving their personal

information to a stranger from this online dating .
