ERGONOMICS

Select three objects around you and ergonomically evaluate it. Write two points for each object which you observe as ergonomically important.
Make a pdf with the image of the object and add your points. Keep it very precise. Need not post your work here. You will be randomly asked
to share the work and present to everyone in next class.

1. LAPTOP:
a) For the opening of the laptop there is a depression created to adjust the fingers in that space and present it from slipping, thus
simplifying the action.
b) The mouse trackpad is generally placed in the centre of the keyboard area, this is done to ensure that it is equally approachable by an
individual without affecting that whether he/she is left-handed or right-handed.
2. CHAIR:
a) The support handles on the chair mostly have curve as we move away from the backrest, this is done because our hands are more
comfortable in following a curvature to relax the shoulders than following a rigid straight handle.
b) The sitting area of the chair has a curve too instead of a sharp edge this to ensure comfort for the legs, as sharp edges tend to exert
pressure on opposite side of the thigs and hence makes it uncomfortable to sit for longer hours.
3. TOOTHBRUSH
a) The handle of the toothbrush is thicker as we move down from the bristles, this is done to provide a better grip of our hand, as the area
increases.
b) Similarly, the handle of the brush is very narrow and flexible just near the bristles because this allows easier movement of the brush
inside the mouth and reach areas molars and premolar which follow a rough semi-circular shape.
