Aerospace Division Rev. A May 2005 Proprietary and Confidential

Aerospace Division
What is the i4000?
The i4000 is an Integrated Broadcast / Interactive AVOD System for most commercial aircraft
types
„ The i4000 reflects over 5 years of development, starting from a clean sheet design and
based on leading edge Internet and Web-based technologies
„ The i4000 is offerable on all Boeing and Airbus aircraft (except for the A380 which use the i5000)
„
Proprietary and Confidential

The i4000 has been selected and has been (or soon will be) installed on
z All of the Airbus A320 family, the A330 and A340
z Boeing 747-400, 767 and 777 Aircraft

„ The i4000 uses 3 Independent Networks to provide Integrated Functionality…

„ Multiple, redundant 100BaseT Ethernet Networks (100 Megabits/second) to handle the data
requirements of Full Aircraft Interactive AVOD
„ An RF Broadcast Network for Audio (FM) and Video (CATV) for Distributed In-seat and Overhead.
TopSeries i4000 - Rev. A May 2005

(Multi-channel RF allows the Ethernet network full bandwidth to be used for Digital Interactive
AVOD)
„ A 115 VAC Power Network for all Seat IFE Components, Passenger Laptops and PEDS, and Seat
Components (motors and actuators)

„ The i4000 retains LRU Commonality and Common Applications and Content with the
i5000 system.
