BAYTAN 1 BLOCK-B
THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD
A.
1. The most challenging problem that every nation-state facing now is the pandemic.
This pandemic which is the deadly virus Sars-Cov 19 affects globally that bring extreme
problem to all of us. The economy is getting down, the tourism is decreasing, the
government is running out of budget and billions of dollars in debt. Not only that, the
level of unemployed has increased and because of all of these the number of hungry
people is continuously rising.
The world has been changed tremendously since the virus spread, so I can say that
this are more powerful than the challenges nation-states faced during the Imperial
period, because these problems that we are fighting today all of us are warriors here.
Every day we are fighting together from this virus physically, emotionally and spiritually.
We do not know how long it will be, we do not know how long we will wear face mask
and face shield. Above all we do not know how long we will be afraid from these
happenings.
I believe that these incoming years it will be difficult for every nation to rise again
due to this pandemic. But I also strongly believe that our old world and our traditional
lifestyle will be back, maybe not now but soon. Little by little we can start again.

2. If I would be a millionaire should I buy anything that is trend now? Yes of course,
why not? Most people, if not all of us, want to live in a financial comfort stability. We
want to be rich, to be able to buy anything we want and to have access to a premium
lifestyle.
If one my happiness is to by fancy clothes or anything that is trend now, I will buy
all of these. I will do what makes me feel satisfied and get what I deserved. We only live
one, so live life to the fullest. It is alright as long as I have enough money. But before
that I will secure my family’s future first.
The first thing that I will do to make my money grow I will invest the some of it and
then I am going to start a business, pay for our life insurances and I will secure my
daughter’s educational plan so that I can ensure that my money will not be all wasted in
luxuries.

3. For the age of 70 years above I interviewed Lola Violet, she is 76 years old. Based
on her year 2017 is the better yet worst year for her. Worst because 3 years ago she had
a heart attack, “I thought it was the end of my life, but look at me now I’m still alive and
recovered” she said. Better because at the same time God gave her a second chance to
live. For her it was the year that she cannot forget.
During 70’s and 80’s are the better years that mama Vi’s experienced in the history
of the Philippines. Mama Vi is 66 years old, she said that the lifestyle before is so simple
even the people. During that time people are more respectful than today and more
satisfied with what they have, they do not seek for more. while some people now want
to have what other people has.
The last one for the age of 50 years above I interviewed ate Rachele. She told me
that the year she had experienced a better life is on 90’s, during that time life is easy for
the prices of goods are lower than today. Before, in just 50 pesos you can buy more
such as a kilo of rice, canned goods and bread unlike now 50 pesos sems like nothing.

1. From what I have understand, I learned that globalization is like a globally flow of events
or things. Globalization is like a global trend, changes or movement that affect most of
the countries, it can affect or happen in multiple levels. It has great effect on political,
social and especially economical aspects. For example, countries have built economic
partnerships to facilitate these movements over many centuries. Also, the lives of the
people changed because of Globalization.

2. Based from the interview I have conducted, I realized that the way we have been living
for today is way different from what it is in their prime. They considered that the
happiest time of their lives is the one when they are still young, they say that their high
school days are worth their lifetime. What comes to my mind is that because of the
rapid globalization their lifetime seems to zooms in very fast. The way they tell their
stories makes realize that life is getting fancier because of today’s trends.
