Roshani Reunites with Her Mother After 28 Years

1. What happen in the video?

The video is about Roshani Priddis, a singer from Sri Lanka. She was forced to
separate with her mother due to their unstable economy. Her mother suffered with
poverty that makes her give her own daughter up when Roshani was still 6 weeks
years old. This was a tough decision but she must do it in order to make Roshani
live a better life. Then Roshani was adopted by an Australian family, the Priddis
Family. They took her while they already had a son. They raised her with so much
love, even support her to be a great singer by allowing her to perform on
Australian Idol and X Factor. Even though she lived happily, she couldn’t deny
she’s missing something. She only had a picture of her birth mom carrying her
when she was still a baby. Every day she looks at that picture, wondering where is
her mom? Does she still exist? Does she still remember her? Sadly, later in 2007
her adoptive mother got diagnosed with cancer. She fought it for 3 years until she
died in 2010. She gave Roshani a dying wish to find her birth mother. This drove
her to hire a private investigator to search her birth mom. Because she only has
very little clues it took them years, but finally they made it. They found Roshani’s
mother, her name is Violet and she lives in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Then Roshani,
her dad, her brother and her boyfriend went together to Colombo to meet her long
lost mother. That made Roshani so happy to know her mother still exist, lived
happily and healthy. When they met, Violet straightly recognized her daughter,
she knew very well and they embraced, that moment was so touching. Violet also
felt happy to finally able to meet her daughter that had been splitted from her for
28 years long. What even surprised Roshani is Violet already had two child and
even a grandchild, she lived a great life though her husband already died by the
time Roshani visiting her. She felt so incredible when she encountered her brother
and sister. She even explained to them how was her live in Australia. They are so
proud to know Roshani grew up to be such an amazing woman.
2. What happen in you when you watch the video?
Im crying. Really. I cried while I’m watching the entire video. To think you don’t
have any choice but to give up your daughter because you can’t provide her need
is so depressing.
For Roshani to not be able to live with her own mother, despite how great her life,
how many facilities her adoptive family provide to her, she would always miss
her mom even if she never meet her. I kind of understand her because my family
also got divorced since I was still a baby. 19 years I lived and I only had been able
to meet my father twice. First when I was 13 years old, last when I graduated
from highschool. I always miss him. When Roshani’s adoptive father told that he
always have this guilty feeling in him because he separate a mother and her child,
I think he is a very kind and warm person, he is so compassionate. And his wife
also. Really, I cried when Roshani read Noelle’s letter. Even on the verge of her
death Noelle always think about Roshani’s happiness, she loves Roshani that
much. Priddis Family is a very warm family. It is so sad for Roshani to lose her
mother twice, both her birth and foster mom. I don’t know about Roshani’s
feeling but I bet Roshani didn’t regret her life. Had it not been for her adoptive
family, she wouldn’t became a great singer. To be a well-known artist, to be
appeared on the national TV shows, and such. Her fate turns her to be a really
strong woman.
