Semi Annual Excellent Employee review has been conducted by vivo

The employee review process is an art and a


science. In February 2020 vivo head office Nepal
conducts the employee semiannual excellent
employee review. It will take place twice in a year
before ending the company fiscal year. The review
has done on the basis of excellence of work and
their achievement during employee tenure with
the organization. The review has conducted with
management panel including supervisor and
officer level employee. Only probation passed
employees were reviewed in the process. It
follows the company performance management
policy, procedures while performing the appraisal.

The semi-Annual review has been conducted at


West, East, Central region of Nepal. More than 60
plus employees were reviewed that included
(HOD- Head of Department of vivo head office
including officer, executive level employee, ASM
and TSM). The semi-annual review result has been
determined by the interview, assessment of work
and the feedback given by the respective
Manager, HOD and subordinate employee. The
final result was announced on the date of April
11,2020 via official wechat group. Vivo family
would like to congratulate all the employee who
has made their list in the semi-annual excellent
employee. We wish them best of luck for their
future endeavours. And wishing all the employee
to perform better in time to come.

The main objectives of review are not limited upto


are as follow:
 Encouraging Performance Improvement
 Motivating Superior Performance.
 Setting and Measuring Goals
 Counseling Poor Performers
 Determining Individual Training and Development Needs
 To strengthen the relationship and communication between superior – subordinates and
management – employees.
 To reduce the grievances of the employees
 Promotion of the employee
Working from Home Policy Adopted by vivo
As soon as the World Health Organization declared Covid-19 a pandemic. Vivo has also adopted the
working from home
policy from March 22,
2020 onward. Vivo head
office has officially
issued the notice about
working from home
policy and it will
continue WFH until
further notice. During
this period vivo has
provided the laptop and
desktop for the needy
employee, so that work
will flow continuous
from home and service
of the company will not
be interpreted. Online Q & A and support will approach to the customers as when needed.

Though this is a new way of performing the work through home table. Some experience of the
employee hit top notch about WFH. For a female employee this has been a tough time while performing
the WFH. Because they have to arrange the house hold activities as well as some are taking care of kids
hurdle in working style.

Anuska Karki states that " From the morning I have to arrange all the chores for home time as well as
office work, however job should be perform it's never easy to apply immediate change in my work. But I
have to manage whatsoever happen during work. This is a new culture we are applying around the
globe. Thus, it has given a new experience for me.

In this lockdown period, many of the employee is concerned about their payroll process how it would be
organized and how our salary will be deposited in the bank. For overcoming this kind of problem finance
department has labored hard to make salary payment in time. Thank to finance department member
who are doing a phenomenal job in calculating payroll, depositing payroll in the bank on time by
ignoring all against hurdle.

Sandesh Shrestha a vivo accountant states that During lockdown there seems a problem on going
outside the bank. But I used my ID card as an identity for official work. He shared his experience that
sometime police queries why you are outside on this pandemic time. He said with smiling face I have to
deposit the employee salary in the bank. And police personal let him go. we are doing our best in regard
to payroll. Our main concern is to make payment on time. I am well aware about COVID-19 and its
prevention method. So, I visit the bank frequently by applying the rules provided by the government
guideline.
Joshna Nepal HR officer at vivo “If you don’t finish your task list of the day, it can become a burden
tomorrow. It just adds to the stress. So, I make it a point to finish what I had set out to do when I had
planned the day,” she says.

For Shubham Gupta, who is a VBA officer at vivo, it has been tough working during first week at home.
Now it is going smoothly at work and conducting training through online have provided a new taste for
him.

Generally, meetings are being conducted via platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, even Wechat are
being used as a means to communicate with one another while at home.
Self-learning Session for Employee
Self-learning is the equivalent of enrolling and attending refresher courses for learner. It is also a good
substitute for learning which requires time and dedicated effort that working professionals might not
have and, in this respect, self-learning can be better than enrolling in specific courses. Above all, self-
learning is valuable since the latest trends and happenings are usually in the news.

The COVID-19 outbreak has created a catastrophic existential health


crisis. Inherently it has rooted impact on the way that perceive the
world and functioning of our daily lifestyle.

For enhancing the employee engagement, sustained learning and


their learning attributes, vivo head office has circular the self-learning
program from April 2020. The employee can select their own subject
or topic as a self-learning process. Every employee will present a
Powerpoint presentation at the end of the month. Their learning skill
and presentation will be determined by the team member along with
the supervisor of the department. Presentation has been presented
via zoom or google meet. This scenario is completed different than
the physical presence. However, this kind of program has added an advantage to employee that they are
more technically friendly day by day. This learning session has given a rise to a perceptible and drastic
increase in e-learning. It is being undertaken remotely and delivered through digital platforms.

Avishek Jha a trainer at vivo further more explain that self-learning can be extremely beneficial as it is
instantly accessible and has flexible scheduling. Tools like video conferencing systems Zoom, which
promote interaction between team member. He adds video tool which renders online sessions to be as
effective as the traditional face-to-face meet.
Covid-19 insurance for all vivo employee
The ongoing global health crisis has created a critical situation for the world and the nation itself. With
the recent growth of Covid-19 cases
in Nepal, it has affected all
businesses very badly. It is for sure
that this will not stop soon and will
last for longer. Day by day it is
getting worsen and leaving all
individuals in fear.

While taking care of employee


health vivo has decided to insure
COVID-19 insurance to Non-VBA and
VBA employee i.e. effective from
May 21, 2020. This will valid upto one year from the date of insuring. Only COVID-19 related case shall
be claimed by the employee, other health problems are exempt from the insurance. The company has
circular the insurance notice via wechat mentioning less than or equal to hundred thousand Nepali
rupees will be taken as a benefit for the employee.

As a facilitator of insurance Ms. Anuska Karki has expressed that she will facilitates insurance
information and calming process as when needed by the employee. She furthermore, added that, she is
also posting the notice and infographic of insurance in an official wechat group. So that employee can
get a real time information on a regular basis.

During this crisis, this insurance benefit will add more advantage to the employee. It helps employee to

Meeting and Training via Zoom, Google meet and other Medium

The COVID-19 global pandemic has fundamentally changed life for all of us. During lockdown physical
presence is almost void. By escaping all against odd, vivo
employees are using Zoom and google meet for meetings
platform. Most of the employees use virtual training
method for demonstration of presentation and other
official meet. Employee start by sending a Paperless Post
invitation to the participation, which has the link to the
meeting in it, so all they have to do is click the link to join
the meeting, training and presentation. From there,
employee use Zoom or google meet to shape the
occasion because it has the tools to make the experience
feel authentic.

The more meeting, we do, the more we realize that different features on Zoom and google meet can
be used for different things. We use screen sharing throughout the entire meeting and training for
visuals including videos and slideshows, the Raise Hand feature for open-floor toasts, and the computer
audio sharing ability to provide a seamless experience. Zoom has a great for virtual audio since
employee can change their mic option and use their professional mics. The recording features add more
benefit for employees. So, that recorded version can be traced as when need in the future too. In
additional for daily messaging, notice and other official work employee are using wechat messaging app.
Just in one push you got your schedule, minute, weekly/monthly report and other official stuff right
there on your screen. This platform has helped employee to increase their productivity level on top.

Health and Attendance Survey of Employee has been conveyed via Google Form
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, many
employees are looking for guidance, worried
about their health and adjusting to new
norms like home working. vivo has free
access to its coronavirus pulse survey to track
employee attendance and wellbeing.

During times like these, Human Resource and


Terminal Department are conducting the
Health and attendance survey twice in a
week. So that employee can be traced. How
employees are performing? How about
his/her health condition is going on? What
kind of troublesome employee are bearing at
the time of pandemic? Thanks to the google
form that makes HRD and Terminal easy to
collect the information. After surveying the
result, HR and Terminal department will
follow the employee if they really need a
help or not. After that, HR department will
provide the general information and help as needed by the employee.

The objective of survey is listed below:


 Identify employees’ concerns and ways to support them better
 Gain insights into how employees are adjusting to remote working

This survey made possible to find out the problem and status of the employee. So, that organization can
make a quick decision what should be done for next steps.

During lock down cycle, HR Department is also circulating the general information regarding COVID-19.
The aim of this circulation is to alert the employee Do's and Don’t during COVID-19. HRD is also adding
the government and WHO guidelines of COVID-19 in the official wechat group. It will definitely educate
the employee how to stay safety and healthy along with their family members.
Online sharing vivo brand, via Social Networking Sites
Any business firm needs brand visibility to be known by customers. Almost this COVID-19 has created a
more critical situation on business houses.
WHF policy has already adopted by the
vivo. To support customer queries,
customer demand and supply. Vivo sales
team has run the campaign on the social
media via Facebook, Instagram. The main
motto of this campaign is "In case of
emergency need of phone we are ready
to serve you". The sales team have posted
theme on their social networking profile.
It has shown the brand presence on the
online platform. The more popup in social
site means brand is spreading all around
the places. With this visibility many
customers are engaging with the vivo
product and customers are also getting
curious to know about the vivo brand.

During the first phase the impact is mild,


with increasing posting and sharing it has
gained the new opportunity in the online
market. This campaign has opened the
door of possibility of the business in near
future.

Department has stated that this is
completely a new testing approach in
nepali market. So, it will take some time
to run. Nevertheless, our brand visibility
has got the new height that for sure. But
we can strongly argue that, we have been
the pioneer team in Nepali market by running this kind of campaign in the market.
