Summary

Mysteries according to Humphrey.

Humphrey is one of the classroom pets. The plot of the book
begins on an October morning inside Room 26 of the Longfellow
School. Mrs. Brisbane the teacher of the class was reading to the
class ´´The Red-Headed league´´ of Sherlock Holmes. The
students were really excited about the book.
At the end of the day they couldn't finish the book, so their
teacher said the next morning they were going to keep reading,
but the next day Humphrey and Og ( Classroom pets) were
waiting for a long time Mrs. Brisbane to start the class with their
classmates. A while later the door opened, letting them see the
faces of their classmates. The school principal, Mr. Morales,
notified that Mrs. Brisbane wouldn´t be going to school for a few
days, so they would have a substitute teacher. So the principal of
the school presented the substitute of Mrs. Brisbane ´´ Mrs. E´´.
On the days when Mrs. Brisbane was missing school, Humphrey
and Og were questioning the reason why their teacher was
missing.

Mrs. Brisbane always sent letters to her students telling that she
would be back soon and always mentioned that she would be
standing soon but the classroom pets still didn’t know why she
was missing classes.
Days were passing and Humphrey spent weekends at his
classmates' homes and together with Og were looking for clues to
determine why their teacher was missing.
Halloween arrived, the most anticipated day for the students in
room 26. After recess, everyone was going to change into their
costumes. While the children made their entrance in their
costumes, a lady dressed as a witch entered the room making
riddles. That woman turned out to be Mrs. Brisbane who had
fractured her ankle trying to get Humphrey something to eat and
for that reason she was missing school.
The rest of the day, the kids explained their costumes, the teachers
announced who won the best costume award and continued to
celebrate Halloween. At the end of the day Humphrey was
thinking about how lucky he is, he was able to help some of his
classmates and his favorite teachers would still be in his school.

My favorite part was when Humphrey passed the newspaper to Phoebe to see the announcement
of a camp for children who have military parents so she wouldn´t feel alone.

I learned that when we are solving our problems, we can also help find solutions for our close
people.
