Religion: We are learning about caring for others

and caring for ourselves. We went to the morning
Mass on Wednesday. Fr. Moses told us a
wonderful story about a little girl. She learned to
take care of herself and others by watching the
adults around her.
Reading: We are working with short and long vowel
sounds. We finished reading the book The BFG.
After our trip, we wrote a booklet about the play.
We talked about the ways the play was different
from the book.
Math: We continued to use ten frames to solve
addition problems. This week, we used ten frames
to help us find tens. For example, 8+4 can be
thought of as 8+2 +2. We wrote in our math
journals using ten frames to describe numbers.
Science: We talked about how animals grow and
change. We looked at the life cycle of the frog and
the butterfly. We completed this chapter about
animals. The next chapter will be about animal
needs for survival.
Social Studies: We read about the story of the first
Thanksgiving. We are writing our own story of the
Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Native Americans.

Thank You
We collected three bags of food this week.
Thank you for supporting our Student
Council. The food items donated will go
to help families this Thanksgiving.

Star of the Week

Finn is our Star of the Week. He
brought some of his favorite toys
and books to share with us. Finn
showed us some great photos
too. His mom was our guest
reader. She read a funny story
to the class.
Finn, you are a super star!
