Religion: We have begun our Lenten class activity.

Each group completed tasks throughout the week
to honor Jesus. On Monday, the students will
switch groups. We joined Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and
3rd grade students for our weekly Lent Prayer
Service. We attended mass on Wednesday. Fr.
Moises told us a story about always having hope.
Reading: We read a story about wishes coming
true in our text. We enjoyed reading several
leveled readers in small groups. We read the book
The Library Mouse. Just like the childrens library
in the story, our classroom has a Meet the Author
section. We are very busy writing and illustrating
our own small books. We also read the second
story in the Library Mouse series.
Math: We are reviewing counting on and using
number lines to solve related facts problems. We
reviewed strategies for solving addition and
subtraction problems. We used fact families to help
us solve addition and subtraction problems.
Science: We are completed the chapter about
weather. We started our unit about penguins. This
is an inquiry based unit of study. I will ask
questions about these amazing birds and together
the children and I will search for the answers.
