Reminders

*Spelling homework begins on
Monday!

*We will be going to the 8:15AM
Mass on Wednesday, Sept. 24.

*Library books must be returned
on Thursday of each week.

*No school on Friday, Sept. 26.
It is a teacher institute day.

Executive Function Program
Everyone is getting into the routine of using the
planner book, take home folder, and school
folder daily. Most students are
completing homework assignments on
time. We will continue to stress good
study habits daily.
News
Religion: We are practicing our prayer manners
each day. We are learning a special prayer
praising God for all that He has created. At the
PeaceBuilders Assembly on Thursday afternoon,
we helped our 5
th
grade buddies tell the story of
Amazing Grace.

SuperKids: We read the first story in our reading
textbook. As we were reading the story, we made
predictions about what would happen next. We
practiced writing sentences with Miss Nichols in
the Reading Lab. We began working with the
sounds of ch, sh, and tch.

Math: We completed the first chapter about using
addition strategies. We started the next chapter
about subtraction strategies. We have a new set of
math vocabulary words to use throughout this
chapter.

Science: We used the magazine pictures to create
2 large posters that show living and nonliving
things. We took our first science test on Thursday.
We will begin studying plants next week. We will
do several activities about seeds and other plant
parts.

100 Book Challenge update: Some students have
read 30 or more books. That is AWESOME!!


Star of the Week
Matylda was our star this week.
She brought some of her
favorite things to share with us.
She showed us some drawings
she made. She brought many
photos. We got to see pictures
of her new puppy! Her mom
was our guest reader on
Friday! Matylda, you are a
super star!
