Reading: This week we are working with the ending sounds ng and le. We read a great story in our reader. We acted out the story in class using our own special fiddlestick.
Math: We are writing and reading addition and subtraction sentences. We practiced solving word problems using pictures. We looked for clues in the question to decide when to add or subtract. Science: We watched our lima bean plants continue to grow. To learn more about seeds, we used marigold flowers to look for the seeds. We finished this chapter. Next week we will begin to learn about animals. Social Studies: We are reading the first chapter in our textbook. This week we talked about rules at school and rules at home. Each child shared one of the rules at his/her house. We read about schools long ago.

Star of the Week

Elih is our star this week. He brought many special things to share with the class. He showed us the Lego kit he got for his birthday. His mom was our guest reader. She read one of his favorite stories.
Elih, you are a super star!

We are celebrating!
Happy Birthday, Elih!
