News

Religion: We sang a special song about angels. We are celebrating the many things that God has created for us. We are working on our prayer manners each day.

Reminders
*Field trip permission slip and money are due Thursday, October 10. Chaperones are not needed for this trip. *Return library books by Wednesday of each week. *Remember to bring an extra pair of shoes on gym days.

Reading: This week we are continuing to work with the sounds of ch, sh, and tch. We added the sounds of th and wh. We are also working on writing sentences correctly.
Math: We are writing and reading addition and subtraction sentences. We practiced solving word problems using pictures, reading pictographs, and sorting counters into groups. We read math stories about more and less and addition. Science: We set up our first science activity. We put lima beans in wet paper towels. We are watching the changes in the beans each day. We watched a video clip from Discovery Education about the parts of plants. Social Studies: We are reading the first chapter in our textbook. This week we talked about rules at school and rules at home. We are working on writing a rule at school and drawing a picture to show the rule.

Star of the Week


Hanna is our star this week. She brought many special things to share with the class. She showed us some great family pictures from different vacations. Her dad was our guest reader. Hanna, you are a super star!
