Religion: We are reading about the story of

Creation. We drew pictures of things that God has
created. We read about St. Francis.

Reminders

Reading: This week we reviewed the sounds of

ch, sh, tch, wh and th. We read an article
about parrots. We completed a chart listing facts
we learned from the article. We wrote a question
and answer about parrots using this information.
Math: We are writing and reading addition and
subtraction sentences. We practiced solving word
problems using pictures, counters, and connecting
cubes. We completed bar models using the
information from word problems.
Science: We planted the lima beans in soil on
Monday. We are watching our lima bean plants
continue to grow. We used a hand lens to look
closely at a group of seeds. We sorted the seeds
into groups based on their size, color or shape.

Social Studies: This week we talked about rules at

school and rules at home. We wrote rules that we
follow at home and at school. Each child shared
one of the rules at his/her house.

Star Students
Phoenix is one of our stars this
week. She showed us some of
her favorite things. Her dad was
our guest reader on Monday.

Apple Week is coming!

We will enjoy many special activities involving
apples next week. Each child is asked to
bring 1 apple to class on Tuesday.

Lilith is our star this week. She

brought some of her special
things to share with us. Her
mom was our guest reader.
Their posters are on
display in our room.
