News

Religion: We are celebrating the many things that God has created for us. We wrote prayers of thanks. We are working on our prayer manners each day.

Reminders
*No school on Monday, October 14.

Reading: This week we are continuing to work with the sounds of ch, sh,tch, th and wh. We practiced asking questions and giving answers orally. Then we wrote questions and answers about parrots.
Math: We are writing and reading addition and subtraction sentences. We practiced solving word problems using pictures. We looked at pictures and told stories about subtraction. Science: We planted our lima beans into small pots of soil. Some of the plants have sprouted! We are able to seed different plant parts as the seeds continue to grow. We used celery stalks and food coloring to learn how the stems carry water to the leaves. We have one more plant activity. We will finish this chapter next week. Social Studies: We are reading stories about Christopher Columbus. We put together a booklet about his voyage in 1492. Then we added the details to finish the picture.

*Please be on time Wednesday morning. We are going to the 8:15AM Mass with grades 2 and 3.
*Return library books by Wednesday of each week. *Remember to bring an extra pair of shoes on gym days. *October Book Orders are due Thursday, October 17.

Star of the Week


Annabella is our star this week. She brought many special things to share with the class. Her mom and dad were our guest readers. Annabella, you are a super star!
