Religion: We visited the church this week. We walked around the aisles of the church. We stopped at each station and read our Station Booklet. We saw how the church is decorated for Palm Sunday. Reading: We reviewed the r controlled vowel sounds. We are working with the plot of a story. We talked about cause and effect and the sequence of events. Language Arts: We are writing bunny stories. Our first story was about a bunny found in the grass. This was written as a newspaper story. The second bunny story follows the 5 step writing process from Superkids. We created our character and a character web, and are working on the sloppy copy and final copy of the story. Math: We are working with place value using the base ten blocks to model hundreds, tens and ones. We practiced putting numbers in order from least to greatest and greatest to least. We read number sentences using the signs for greater than and less than. Science: We completed the chapter about magnets and sound.

April Book Report

This months book report is a visit to the principals office. Each child will read a book to Ms. Kowalski. After reading the story, the child chooses a special ribbon to wear the rest of the day.

Timelines
Everyone enjoyed sharing and listening to the timelines. Each timeline described important events for each year from birth to age 7. This activity is part of the Social Studies unit we are studying.
