Notes and Thanks
Thank you for all the wonderful treats and
notes and cards! Teacher Appreciation
Week has been wonderful! All of you
and the Parent Association have been
so very generous!

News

Religion: We went to Mass on Wednesday
morning. We are reciting more responses each
time we go to church. We are continuing to read
about families in our Family Life book.

Reading: We created our own dragons and
described the dragon using adjectives. We
reviewed r controlled vowels ar, or, ir, ur, and er
(star, corn, first, turn, hammer). We also worked
with trickers r controlled vowels: ar and or making
the er sound (dollar, word). We started writing
poetry.

Social Studies: We completed the unit about
natural resources. Next week we will focus on
landforms.

Science: We completed 5 small group projects. We
are working on the display boards. You can see
our work at the Art Zone Show.

Math: We are naming coins and their values. We
are sorting groups of coins and finding the amount
of money in a group of coins. The field trip money
was a great lesson in sorting and counting dollars.

Our caterpillars have arrived! Next week, we will
learn more about butterflies.
Flat Stanley
We have started to hear
about Stanleys travels.
We received emails and
photos from Wisconsin
and Australia! I have set
up the bulletin board and
two maps to mark his
travels. It will be fun
to see where he
visits next.
