What Were Learning
Reading:
We introduced the fourth Daily 5 center Read to
Someone. We LOVE sharing our favorite books
and smart reading skills with our friends!
We studied the letters M and T.
We learned that authors sometimes use the same
characters across different books like Trixie and
her dad in Knufflebunny and Knufflebunny Too.
We learned about character traits and how
characters act and think the same and different.
We learned two new words: and & my.
Math:
We continued learning about Math Workshop. We
practiced how to do Digital Tools and Math
Writing.
We compared groups of objects to determine
which was bigger and which was smaller.
Writers Workshop:
We worked on fixing up our stories to make them
ready to publish.
We had our very first Publishing Party where we
got to share our writing with our 5
th
grade buddies!
We practiced writing H, K, & L in our handwriting
books.
Social Studies:
o We continued to talk about being Handy Helpers
and cleaning up.
o We now have Handy Helpers in our room each day
that assist the teacher when needed.
