Birthdays

& We continued our unit about concept books (i.e.

counting books, alphabet books, pattern books, etc).
& We determined the authors purpose for writing each
book in our unit (i.e. to teach us to count backwards, to
teach us about the life cycle of a butterfly, etc.). We
also found evidence to support our thinking.
& Mrs. Flohr has been assessing all week for end of the
year report cards. The growth has been amazing!

Writers Workshop:
! We started a new unit working on writing persuasive
pieces.
! We learned that writers write to make the world better.

Math:

We created a teen numbers book.

We practiced adding and subtracting numbers up to 10.

Science:
We gained four visitors last week. We have caterpillars
in our room! We have watched them eat and eat and
eat for the past week but today, one finally made a
chrysalis!

recess for outdoors day. We also re-named ourselves

Hoffman, Snowflake, Wild Style, Kenny Bell, Mrs.
Bindergaten, and the list goes on J.

Thank you!!!! What an amazing turnout we had for our Roll Out the Red Carpet celebration
Thursday night! Thank you so much for helping celebrate how far your children have come as writers
this year!!! Isnt it amazing?! I rarely get the chance to share this growth with parents, so it was
definitely a highlight of my year J.
