Important Dates/Reminders
Show & Tell: Letters V and H.
No School November 10th
School Skate is tonight from 5-7 at
Skate Zone in Lincoln.
Books and Bagels with Mom (or
a special guest) will be on Friday,
November 21st from 8:30-10:00.
Please return the RSVP form by
Monday so we have an accurate
count.
Thanksgiving Break is November
26th- 28th.
We are working on becoming Sight
Words Superstars! Sight Word
and Letter Practice cards are
coming home with students today.
Please practice the words/letters
on the cards. When you feel that
your child can read all of the
words/letters, sign the back of the
paper and return it to school so that
we can re-assess and move them
to the next level!

What Were Learning

Reading:
& We discussed our books with our Book Clubs and
talked about our favorite parts, questions we had,
and how different parts of the book made us feel.
& We came up with ideas on how to retell our books
for a presentation during Books and Bagels!
& We studied the letters L and R.
& We learned 2 new sight words: so and an.

Math:
+ We continued talking about 5 groups within
numbers.
+ We worked on writing numbers 1-10

Writers Workshop:
! We worked on revising our true stories to make
sure we have capital letters, finger spaces, and
punctuation.
! We are starting to see ourselves as a writing
community and are giving feedback to others as
well as taking feedback from our fellow writers.
! We are working on true stories that will be used
during our Publishing Party.

Science:
We planted a seed and a marble and predicted

which one will grow. We are excited to watch our

plants grow in our classroom!

Literacy Tip: Have paper and pencils available for your child to use for writing. Working together, write a
sentence or two about something special. Encourage your child to use the letters and sounds he or she
is learning about in school.
