K1 November News

Literacy: 1st week: Review A, C, D, and G 2nd week: Q 3rd week: O 4th week: S 5th week: F We will be working on letter-sound relationships as well as printing each letter in upper case and lower case. Our Math focus for this month will be based on counting 1-10, number relationships (with 10 frames), and some patterning. IMPORTANT DATES: November 11th: Remembrance Day, NO SCHOOL November 20th and 25th: Student Led Conferences November 27th: Early Dismissal at 2:17 Student Led Conferences will be held on November 20th and 25th in the afternoon/evening. There will be a time slot from 4:15-5:15 and another one from 5:45-6:45 on both days. There will be 4 or 5 students in each time slot. You will be able to visit 5 or 6 different centers with your child where they can show you what they have been learning in Kindergarten. There will also be an opportunity for you to meet with me, where you will receive a progress report and we can discuss goals for your child for the year. A sign up sheet is attached to this letter and spots will be given on a first come first serve basis, so please get back to me as soon as possible to book your time! *The other Monday/Wednesday are holding their conferences on different days, so please do not be confused if you hear different dates from other classes!

Thank you to those of you who have volunteered at lunch, during class time, and during our party! It is wonderful to have an extra set of hands, and the kids love getting to spend some time with a family member at school.

Our themes for the month will be Remembrance Day and Space. If you have any photos, books. etc. that have to do with either of our themes, you are more than welcome to send them to school with your child for a day!

As the cool and snowy weather is approaching, please send your child to school with hats, mitts, coats, etc. We ask the students to wear whatever outdoor items they were sent to school with. As long as the school is having outdoor recess, we are outside for half an hour over our lunch break. We are currently working on creating a Kindergarten webpage. The webpage will have links shared for all the Kindergarten classes, as well as some links for our individual K1 class. We are hoping to have it up sometime this month, and I will let you know when it is ready to be visited! We are looking forward to a wonderful (and hopefully not too snowy!) month of November with your children! Miss Williams, Mrs. Gravel, and Mrs. Campbell
