October Newsletter

Dear Families,
Wow, time is flying by! We are gearing up for a busy October! There are many fun activities and
special events ahead this month. We will be introduced to the sounds and beginning formation of
the letters B, R, N, and M and the numerals #1 and #2. Colors for the month are yellow, green,
and orange. Our shape study this month will focus on circles. Our themes this month are
Pumpkins, Spiders and Bats, Fire Safety/Community Helpers and Mother Goose! This month we
will also have 4 opportunities for Show and Tell: October 6th, October 13th, October 20th, and
October 27th. Please be sure to send items that relate to our themes, and that are small enough
to fit in your childs locker.
There are several important dates to note in October:
Monday, October 3rd and Tuesday, October 4th 8:15-10:15AM Parent Visitation Days! If
your schedule allows, we would love to have you drop by our classroom. This is also a great time
to visit different Pre-K classrooms to begin thinking about options for your child for next
school year!
Wednesday, October 5th Picture Day! (5 Day students only!) If you would like to purchase a
picture package please return your packet and/or money on this day. Tuesday/Thursday
students will have an opportunity for picture day in November
Friday, October 28th Mother Goose Parade and Enchanted Library Children will come to
school dressed as their favorite nursery rhyme character and we will parade on campus and
through the enchanted library. Please keep in mind your child may not want to be in costume,
and this is okay! Tuesday/Thursday students are welcome to join us for this special event!
Monday, October 31st and Tuesday, November 1st No School, Parent Teacher Conferences!
We are looking forward to sharing your childs accomplishments with you. Please watch for the
sign-up sheet to be posted outside of our classroom door. If there is not a time that works for
you, please let us know and we can make alternate arrangements.
As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns! Your children are a joy to
teach!
