November 30, 2012 week In our class this week

This week in TK/K we have been very busy. We began decoding (sounding out) words this week. The children used letter sound knowledge, put those sounds together and sounded out the word. It was fun to see the students faces when they were able to sound out a word! This will continue to be a skill we will work on throughout the remainder of the year. Our class also focused on ending sounds of words, comparing numbers, living and nonliving things, homes, explanatory writing, and Gods love for everyone. It has been a week full of new learning for the children! I hope you had a chance to look at your childs report card and are happy with their progress. They are all doing so well!

A Peek at the Week

Next week we will continue to work in sounding out words. We will also begin to go more in depth with our writing. As a school, we will also begin our Advent season with the Jesse tree each M, W, and F morning. We will learn about Jesus through his ancestors and prepare our hearts for the birth of Jesus!

Special notes
I am emailing home the information regarding the Christmas program and the Christmas party. It is a second attachment to the same email as this one is attached to. It is also a link on the class website. It is listed under TK/K information.
