A Peek at Our Week:

Reading: We will be learning how to clarify the meaning of words in informational texts by using context clues. Math: We will begin a unit on data and graphing. This week we will learn how to count and draw tally marks. Writing: We will write opinions in response to a read-aloud. Science/Social Studies: We will be learning about the military. We will get to Skype with a Marine!

Reminders:
If you are attending the Thanksgiving meal with your student, please plan to meet us in the lunchroom at 10:55. Lunch times will be slightly delayed due to long lines. If you are able to volunteer to help serve and get people through the lunch line for our Thanksgiving meal, please contact the office to let them know.

Sound Check: This week the students will be working on words with long a (day, play, away). We will be introducing suffixes (-ed, -ing), and we will also continue working with Bossy R teams. Sight Words and Family Words: Sight words: playing, this, two, going, little
(all of these words will be on the test)

Homework Help:
As our sight words become more challenging, I will be adding new ways to study the spelling words at home. Please be sure to double check the spelling homework choices on the calendar each week. As always, each choice is optional. Please choose study methods that are best for your child.
