Mrs. Patsavas Classroom Newsletter

Dear Parents, This Wednesday is the last day to bring in change for our mission project. Please send in any change (or dollars) that you can. Thank you for your help! On Wednesday we will also have Reading Rocks with our reading buddies. Please send in a Dr. Seuss book for your child and their buddy to read. In Religion, we will read Chapter 15, Jesus Feeds Many People. We will read the story, Bread and Fish for Everyone from Luke 9 and John 6. We will learn how we should share our gifts with others and how we thank God for his Love for us at Mass. In Math we will match a number card to a set of objects, solve oral story problems by drawing a picture and looking for a pattern, identify numbers, identify a sphere, order objects by size, sort coins and identify a quarter and a dollar. We will also complete oral assessment #11, which is identifying a penny, nickel and dime and using teddy bears to complete oral story problems. This week in Reading we will work on Unit 9 from the Superkids Club. We will identify and write the letter J. We will also practice using correct spacing and punctuation in sentences, identify rhyming words, blend sounds to decode words, encode medial vowel sounds, learn new vocabulary, sequence events and write a story using rhyming words. In Science we will observe and describe different liquids and the effect that temperature has on them. We will also read our Weekly Reader, What Does Spring Bring? Happy Spring, Mrs. Patsavas
