Week in Review: October 31 November 4

The kids had so much fun dressing up for Halloween at school and doing the fun stations in each
teacher's classroom! I love our Buddy system! It's a great opportunity to get to know other kids in our
school!
We have started our Nursery Rhymes unit. The first poem of the unit is Hickory Dickory Dock. I chose
this one because it was one of the first songs I did with my class in September. Ask your child to sing
the whole song to you!
On Tuesday, we finished up our Pumpkin Exploration mini-unit by baking pumpkin scones! Every child
helped with some aspect of measuring and stirring. Everyone loved the scones! We made a double batch
and there was enough for all of us to have a second scone on Wednesday. I have posted the recipe to the
Recipes section on our blog in case anyone wants to try this out at home! Another great way to get
vegetables into your kids!
Mrs. Keiver read a book to us about animals in North America. Over the next few weeks she will continue
to share stories and activities about animals from our region.
We started our Sound Connections program on Wednesday with the letter M. A duotang with an
overview of the Sound Connections program is coming home on Friday. This duotang is for you to keep at
home and practice with your child. Ask your child what craft they made with the letter m this week!
On Thursday we made another trip to Garden View. This time we took our m crafts that we made the
day before! We wont be able to make our visit next week since our schools Remembrance Day assembly
will be held during that time frame.
