News

Religion: We are reading about the story of
Creation. We drew pictures of things that God has
created. We read about St. Francis.

Reading: This week we reviewed the sounds of
ch, sh, tch, wh and th. We read an article
about parrots. We completed a word web listing 8
facts we learned from the article. We wrote a
question and answer about parrots using this
information.

Math: We are writing and reading addition and
subtraction sentences. We practiced solving word
problems using pictures. We looked for clues in the
question to decide when to add or subtract.

Science: We planted the lima beans in soil on
Monday. We watched our lima bean plants
continue to grow.

Social Studies: This week we talked about rules at
school and rules at home. Each child shared one
of the rules at his/her house. We read about
schools long ago.

Art Zone: We had lots of fun creating this months
artwork. Thank you to our wonderful volunteer
parents! You make this program possible.


Star of the Week

Dorothy is our star this week.
She brought many special things
to share with the class. She
showed us some of the gifts she
got for her birthday. Her dad
was our guest reader. He read a
very funny story to the class.
