Religion: We are continuing to work in our Lent

journals. Our food donations are growing as well
as our donations for the church. Our classroom
prayer jar is filling up with our prayer offerings. We
met with grades Kindergarten, 1, 2 and 3 for our
weekly Lenten prayer. Next week we will begin to
focus on the stories of Holy Week.
Reading: We are reading the stories in Unit 4 in
our text. Then we focused on putting events in the
order they happened in the story. This units vowel
sounds are aw and all.
Math: We are using 100 charts and 120 charts to
reinforce skip counting skills. We have been filling
in missing numbers in both charts. We solved
wacky word problems on Wacky Wednesday after
reading Dr. Seuss book.
Science: We are almost finished with our Penguin
unit. This week we organized the information that
we found into word documents. We watched 2
Discovery Education videos about these birds. We
discovered that one lives in the forests of New
Zealand.

Thank You
It was great to see so many of you on Thursday
afternoon for report card pick-up. As we begin
the 3rd trimester, there are many more
special activities planned to encourage
reading, writing and math skills.

We created our own McElligots

Pool after reading the story in
class. We wrote our own rhymes
and stories after reading Green
Eggs and Ham and Horton
Hatches the Egg. We enjoyed
reading a few more Seuss stories.
We will read The Lorax
next week and make
our own truffela trees.
