Reminders
Reading: We are working with long and short
vowel sounds. We practiced adding endings ing and ed. We practiced recalling details and putting events in story order. We shared our favorite books from home telling about the beginning, the middle and the end of the story. Math: We reviewed the addition strategy of counting on and using a number line to solve addition and subtraction problems. We also practiced using addition to solve subtraction. For example: if we want to solve 15-7, we can use the addition sentence 7+ __ =15 to find the answer.

Our Next Project
We will be using a series of books by Daniel Kirk beginning next week. The main character lives in the neighborhood library. He loves to read and tries to write his own books. Using the story events of the first book, we will write and illustrate our own storybooks.
